Which horrendous call was your favorite last night?

The missed call when Moore had the ball knocked out of his hand at the end of the game?
The phantom PI on Sparks near the end zone?
The extra yard given to UK on the QB sneak that resulted in a first down?
The bullshite targeting call on Acy that negated a 15 yard personal foul on UK?
The refs were absolutely brutal last night.

I'm checking out of these ridiculous, whiny, "what ifs" and excuses threads. Serves no purpose other than to bitch and moan when the real problem lies with the HC and getting him out of here.

Cool, then don't post in them?
They are plenty of Odom sucks threads if that's what you want to discuss.
I'd like to discuss how bad the officiating was last night.

Feel free to discuss it all you want. My tone wasn't necessarily directed at you alone, you just started the thread. Here is where I'm coming from. I've lived and experienced these shitshows:
Mizzou football in the 80's and most of the 90's.
The Chiefs through the entire decade of the 80's.
Royals baseball for a full 30 years.
I just have no tolerance nor patience anymore for incompetence. You may have valid points about the refs, but any decent football team with a legit, competent coaching staff can get past that and win most of those games. Hell, this terrible coaching staff had them in the position to do just that.
You can discuss some of the horrendous in game decisions of this staff that help lead to the defeat too. I just think these type of threads, at this juncture, is just idle time used to bitching instead of the real reason of what's going on. You and anyone else is certainly entitled to sit here and play this game. It's just an effort in futility and a waste of time, but that's what fans do, so have at it.

You are bitching about the entire purpose of a chat board by bitching about it.....on a chat board.
Well done.
Well done.

The holding that wasn't called on the fake punt was ridiculous.
I'm still trying to figure out who the 5th player in the backfield was on the long 3rd down that Witter converted.

That illegal formation call was pretty questionable too. They claimed that our WR was off the line, but the replay they showed was pretty inconclusive. Quite a call to make on something that had zero effect on the play.

LT was to far off the line, made other receiver illegal, announcers didnt explain it very well and only circled WRs on replay

The targeting was textbook. They could take the video and show it to refs to train them what targeting looks like.

My only question and why I hate the targeting rule is, if the offensive player lowers his helmet, how is that the fault of the defender? Is he magically going to go lower?
Helmet to helmet, 15 yard penalty, ejection for 2 halves? It's ridiculous.
Maybe on your second infraction, but it's an absurd punishment.

I've still seen no clarification. Was not a "defenseless player". If that rule has changed, I'd like to know when.
Maybe it was the right call. I still hate it with a passion.

When you lower your head, and contact the offensive player with the crown of your helmet, like Acy did, to the helmet of the guy, it's an easy targeting call. Keep your head up, and you will be able to see if the runner has his head down. Use your shoulder pads to the mid section. Plus, if you keep your head up, you have a better chance of making the tackle instead of losing your jock strap when the ball carrier makes a move.

All true, it’s also true that if safety is the reason for the rule then the offensive player shouldn’t be allowed to lower his head and lead with the helmet.

I mean how many running backs lead with the crown of their helmet?
I'm not against the rule per se, but I think the punishment is ridiculous.

I don't know if you've ever played football, but it's pretty much impossible to hit a moving target exactly where you want to. Now add in that these guys are world class athletes and it becomes even tougher.
Calling targeting on a play where the ball carrier is 1. Not defenseless and 2. Leading with his helmet is simply put horseshite.
I know it's just a ruse to show that they are doing something about concussions, but these rules have to be changed. It's very bad for the quality of the game.
I was watching the UNLV/SD St and a player was called for targeting for essentially hitting a guy too hard. His helmet did touch him, but it was off to the side in the chest area and he led with his shoulder.

That was probably flagged for hitting a defenseless player.
You are right about the offense though. They aren't supposed to lead with their head either, but they never call it. The "point of emphasis" is on the defense.

He wasn't defenseless he had ran for about 10 yards before the hit.

I didn't see the play, so I don't know. Officials make mistakes too. Could have been just that. But Acy was clearly targeting! No getting around that. It was text book.

I don't hate the targeting penalty or its intent. I hate the "all over the place" way it is called and enforced. I watched a Michigan player earlier this year hit the QB the same exact way Shane Ray hit the Bama QB in the SEC champ game. Ray ejected, Mich player - no call.
I hate that players on teams with smaller fan bases are pretty much automatically ejected, where players on blueblood teams may get the penalty but get to stay in the game sometimes.
This penalty is covered in BS.
Reporter Ben DuBose put it well on Twitter
The lesser team is going to get hosed by the refs more often most times. Just the way it is.
"Team with more wins, better shot at a bowl, playing at home gets benefit of doubt. Not rocket science to understand why."
MU is simply going to have successful seasons more consistently to get away from this 5th down, flea kicker, 18 seconds to spot the ball mire.

Bad call and how the refs didn't see it is beyond me since EVERYONE was looking at Moore
