What's the serious explanation for the terrible road games in the future?

Honestly who is scheduling this garbage? Are we in such dire straits that we have to play @Arky St, @UConn, @Wyoming, and @Memphis?

I get there was some scheduling issues with the SEC after the transition, but why the hell are we playing home and homes with nobodies?

Wasn't it assumed Arky St. was being played in KC, but somehow that fell apart. Because of UConn's recent exposure they will only do Home and Home. The other 2 I have no idea especially Wyoming.

Purdue isn't great, but at least they are power 5.

It's the non power 5. Should never play a road game with them.

True, but would prefer to play some other Power 5 that hasn't hit rock bottom like Purdue.Since Tiller has left they have been a mess.

I think they agreed to play at Arkansas St. so Alden didn't have to sign a hefty check to them.

I know STL was in serious talks with trying to get the game there.

This is probably why we don't get much respect nationally is because of our soft non conference schedule.
But as Pinkel always say "we do what we do"

Pinkel has done a great job at Mizzou.

You're right, it was supposed to be a St. Louis game. Wasn't that the game the Cards actually agreed to allow to be played at Busch.

I agree we need a non conference marquee game like a Michigan State, or Arizona or how about Miami?

I think we dangled some cash to ASU and they had a booster pony up money to keep the game as scheduled at ASU.

808 is right.

And the thought is also correct regarding "respect" and our non con scheduling. Which, quite frankly, couldn't be any worse if we tried.

Stop playing road games against non power 5 schools. Just stop. never do it.

Home/Home vs Power 5 should also be taken to the next tier. You kind of get associated with who you play. Do we want to be Purdue and Indiana? West Virginia is a good start. BYU is fine as well. I'd try to get something with Michigan St, Nebraska, Virginia Tech etc

I get the concept of inflating one's record by playing patsies but I'm all ready for the days of Devine and schedule me some USC or ND or OU or MSU or tOSU or whoever every year. If we've arrived or if we want to take that next step, the only way we'll get the respect is by beating those teams regularly. If we can't beat them, well it gives a good barometer of what needs to be done to get to the next level.

These games are exactly why we have become a great road team. We get chances to get a road win and expose all the young players to preparing on the road.

Part of it is the SEC move screwing it up..had to take anyone available terms.

As for P5 matchups...I see 3 options. 1. Restart the Illinois game. 2. schedule the lowest hanging fruit. 3. Get some old Big 12 North schools on the docket. The SEC schedule is tough enough, no need to tack on extra work.

How they let the Braggin Rights game at the Dome go, I'll never know. But I do like picking up Purdue and WV. Not super long trips.

Arky state had the chance of playing a game at Busch where they would have made $750,000 plus 50% ticket sales but declined and chose to pay us 400,000 to play in fricking Jonesboro.

they had a booster the Johnny allison family step up and donated 5 mil. for stadium expansion with the stipulation they play it at home. A friend of mine who woks at Busch stadium told me the negotiations were going well and it was going to happen there until the 11th hour donation.

its a huge game for them as tix are going for 175 at the minimum on seat geek.

My understanding is Illinois was tired of getting shite smeared every year, I mean when was the last time they beat us in football? 2005? 2004?
