What is the best redemption story in Mizzou history?

For me it was the 2013 season.

After that horrible 2012 season, that was riddled with injuries, Mizzou went 5-7, and was told, "see, told ya you can't hang in the SEC." The old man/grown man football comments was a self inflicted sting to that season as well.

Then Mizzou came out like gangbusters in 2013. They went 11-1, went to the SEC Championship game, and won the Cotton Bowl against former Big 12 rival Oklahoma State to add a cherry on top of an outstanding season. It was also amazing that Mizzou had such a great season while their starting QB was out for 4 games.

Was there any redemption story that was better than the 2013 season? I was born in 1983 so I think that beating Nebraska in 2003 after a long drought against them would be my second choice.

Side note: I think we would have won 9 games in 2012 if we were some what/full strength.

I think we should have beaten Vandy and Syracuse at the strength we were at.

I would have taken 7-5 and a bowl game that year.

We would have beaten UF, UGA, Vandy and cuse.

No excuse on UF, we completely out played them.

UGA had a 2 point lead late in the that game before UGA scored 2 TD in the last 3 minutes.

and well its Vandy and Cuse..

You mean right before we decided to run a fake punt on 4th and forever in our own end of the field when our longest run of the day had been like 4 yards, if that.

'Cuse - Big Shel was in Pinkel's dog house this game. All he had to do was the classwork. Nope, I hang this one on him. He let his teammates, coaches and fans down. With a win over Cuse, Mizzou would have gone to a minor bowl. I'm glad Big Shel is gone and wish him well.

I can not blame Big Sheldon. On the play Syracuse scored the winning TD (wide open) the defense did not know the scheme. I believe it was E. J. Gaines who stated after the game that the defensive calls from the sidelines were hard to understand all game. On the last play the players did not know what defense they were supposed to be in. Coverage was screwed up.

Coaching staff made some big mistakes that first year in the SEC. Dare I bring up the fake punt in the Georgia game??
