We need a lot of horses on D. Big horses

If Bazelak is starting in 23, something will have gone wrong. I’m not at all blaming him for the loss today. I just don’t see him as the long-term solution.

Yeah, we suck, and will continue to suck until further notice. Hopefully our recruits don’t jump ship.

Drinks gotta sell the suckage as future easy playing time. This D is horrific, Wilks should be fired.

I am no Wilkes fan but no D coach in football could get shite with that front end of the defense, NO ONE. They are not like LSU from last year they are outmanned horribly upfront and the backers are shite. Blame for this unit is on the BO era recruiting.

Tougher to hear when you see what Arkansas and Ole Miss is doing with their second year coaches

Our DL and LBs suck. They cannot hold their gaps. It’s funny to hear the announcers rave about Aldredge because they look at the stat sheet for sacks and TFls. He is constantly out of position trying to make a big play but missing. Barry’s shitty recruiting are responsible for the lack of LB depth.

Oh Nick Bolton, where have you gone?

I'm always slightly surprised when a team like Missouri doesn't have at least big defensive tackles. You can theoretically just grow them and after four years you should be able to have at least a pair of tackles that should be able to take up three blockers against lower to mid range teams. I obviously don't know how it really works. I just remember a buddy who started for the Mizzou Oline during the Chase Daniel era told me his Freshmen year that he was being ordered to just eat like whole large pizzas for lunch

I'm here to tell you all that I seriously get the vibe that Drinkwitz is not feeling being here.

It wouldn’t surprise me. He’s going to face serious headwinds the entire way. This program doesn’t have the rabid fan support and financial commitment of most other decent programs. The 2015 debacle truly crippled much of the progress Pinkel made.

Based off of what exactly? He's going to have to win some games if he wants to use us as a stepping stone to a bigger program. He's been nothing but pro-Mizzou since he's been here anyway, and this loss doesn't change the fact that we are recruiting better than ever before and have a great shot at landing Burden

They had better big guys in the wings. It is what it is.

In the press conferences mainly. He just seems resigned, like he knew that this is a .500 team before the season even started. He also does not seem like the build a program over 4-6 years type of guy.

Agree…. However, look at their recruiting rankings from 2017-2020…. Both programs were top 20-30 for the most part. Mizzou has consistently been in the 40’s. The 13th ranked recruiting class in the SEC. Only team worse? Vandy. I honestly think it’s impressive we are a borderline bowl team. Drink is changing the culture. Actually, he’s making a culture. We’ve already seen it in the recruiting rankings (top 15 in the country his first full recruiting cycle). Good things take time.

Also, Odom was fortunate to be blessed with generational QB talent. Imagine what his teams would have looked like without Lock…

Correct. This is a severely limited roster. It needs to be completely flipped and I’m just not really sure about Bazelak either.

Then he wouldn’t have taken the job.

You’re right, you can tell from the press conferences that he knows we suck. He’s at practice everyday. He’s not dumb. He’s been recruiting wry well so apparently he’s selling early PT to these guys

I get that. But we are talking about losing to programs with worst recruiting numbers like BC. I get the lack of talent and understand the need to build, but teams are literally running the ball down our throats. Say what you want about BO, but we would at least be able to be competitive at stopping the run through scheme.

BC is better than us this year. They won’t be better than us next year. It was a bad matchup for us.
