Sitting here with a friend, granted he was a Division 3 positional coach not an OC but he pointed out a few things us mere mortals may not see.
1st. He suspects something is not quite right about Burden. Slight drag to his shoulder/arm and slight limp. Maybe accumulated hits.
2nd. No way was Burden supposed to be the target of those short passes. Burden drew double coverage to that side intentionally. Cooks check downs were downfield not a double covered Burden lateral.
3rd. Stephen's 1st 4th quarter drop was on him. The second wasn't his fault. He was clearing the middle, which is why he was dismayed with Brady throwing him the ball.
4th. Moore had their defense dialed in evidenced by the ease of scoring when attacking the intermediate middle. My friend here doesn't believe Moore changed his approach, as much as Cook went off script.
5th. Something is wrong with Cook. His velocity is shot to hell. In baseball we call it "dead arm." Cook is throwing spirals that are still floaters.
I amazed at the stuff he sees, thought I would share with Y'all. BTW...I talked to Kul on LinkedIn, he was at the game.

Was at the Vandy game and watching them warm-up ... this is a solid assessment. Horn would step, flick his wrist and the ball came out on a line and went 40 yards while Cook was throwing floaters even after crow-hopping to get the ball to travel 30 yards ...
When Horn transfers to LSU (or another SEC baseball school) and beats our defense senseless, we can thank Harry Potter for his inability to develop more than one QB at a time ...

I haven’t noticed a lack of velocity from a Labrum or Rotator Cuff injury. I do see him wince occasionally and move his shoulder up and down. His velocity is still much better than last year.
A successful SLAP surgery takes a minimum of 6 to 8 months to be completely healed. He was at the Manning camp in June and probably not taking it easy. If he wanted to make sure he was fully healed he should have taken at least 6 months of rehab and waited around 7 months to go all out. He was probably in a hurry to get back so he didn’t lose his job to Horn.
My cousin’s kid tore his Labrum in 17 or 18 water skiing. After his surgery and rehab he still has trouble lifting things over his head without pain and i think he’s 24 years old.
Injury or not Cook is not a P5 QB. A lot of people have got on the Cook bandwagon, but the receivers are what has made him look good. The TD pass to Wease was pretty nice

Every player is a little banged up especially skilled players that get hit a lot.

Enough with the Drink doesn't "develop" quarterbacks bullshite.
What specifically is he NOT doing?
It was evident that Horn didn't know the fricking playbook when he was in. THAT'S ON HORN.
Ever hear the old saying about horses and water.
If Horn is all that then he should easily be able to beat out Cook, who you obviously think is no good.
Again, that's not on Drink.

Well. Cook has also put Burden into some dangerous spots with his throws to him leading to more hits than he should.

Again, dude ... I watched Horn play here in GA, in an NFL playbook offense with Travis Hunter ...
You can tell me the kid is an idiot, doesn't know the playbook, its all his fault ...
And I'll just say he and Travis Hunter won a 7A state championship over teams that would roll every team in Missouri at any level ...
But you do you. Horn will eventually be playing in the MLB or potentially on Sundays and Cook will be selling insurance in Omaha, NE ...
No longer answering your ignorance (SECRant needs an ignore function) ...

Again with your stupid I saw him in high school shite.
Was he playing against 4 and 5 star 20 year-olds or 15 year-old kids who aren't playing in college now?
And, you never do answer exactly what Drink is/isn't doing to stifle Horn's development. You're just bitching because you know Horn.
I wish I could ignore your stupid fricking arse.

Jake Garcia was higher ranked than Sam Horn and beat him in the 7A State Championship Horn’s Junior year.
If your going by ranking’s and what state their from Garcia should be the front runner for QB1.

You don’t know much about Missouri football. Last year CBC beat Milton(GA) 41-27. Milton lost in the Georgia 7A semifinal to the state champions Mill Creek. Mill Creek beat Collins Hill 54-0.
Must have been a really bad year for 7A Georgia teams getting beat by one of those shitty Missouri teams.

I don't see how it is possible to glean that Horn doesn't know the playbook from the vanilla playcalling when he was in.

You got me. Your single data point invalidates my whole argument. You must work in the statistics department for the current administration ...

Not saying Mo high school football is better than GA football, but they are not going to “roll every team in Missouri at any level”.
In 2018 3A Trinity Catholic lost 37 to 6 7A Colquitt County. CC was ranked #26 nationally.
In 2018 6A CBC ended the season ranked 44th. They lost one game 49-59 to 6th ranked St. John’s(Washington DC). St John’s beat John’s Creek(GA) 49-0 and Marietta(GA) 21-14.
Not just KC and Stl metro’s have been ranked in the top 50 nationally. Webb City ended the 2014 season ranked 11th by USA Today. WC dominated MO football for 8 years with a 141-3 record. The 2014 team could have played with about anybody in the country. The 14 team had a TE/P get drafted by Vikings in the 5th RD. He was a backup his Senior year.
In 2014 Buford, GA ended the season ranked 7th and Colquitt County GA ended the season ranked 5th. Webb City would not have got “rolled” by either.

Think about what you said for a minute.

I think you are reading what you want into it. Absence of evidence isn't proof of your accusation.

Cook’s arm seems injured again tbh. The velocity from a few games isn’t there anymore.

Was that the reason for the fake punt to let the punter throw the long ball?
