you wouldnt think since it's only a few miles away, but I've never been there.

We need Big Bear Josh the fat cheetah Augusta to have statement games these next two weeks, he's shown glimpses of it but not really had a full game, if he and TBJ can terrorize the FL/UGA backfields, we have a real chance in these games.

Several folk stay there, as it's impossible to get a room in Athens. Are you going to Watkinsville, then catching a cab to the game?

ETA- If you've never been to Athens, be prepared to walk up and down hills. Comfy shoes and tell the women not to get caught up with fancy, uncomfortable shoes/boots.

I asked this on the main board, but you know what that's like, so again, if Mizzou knocks off the dawgs and hands Ricth another home field loss, how many fans ARE NOT on the fire Richt band wagon?

Would that be the last straw or not?

The ONLY way I see this happening is if our DL can contain Chubb and force Mason to throw more than they want, we win the turnover battle, Hans is 100% by then, and Lock is on fire. Sorry, I just don't like this match-up for us. And I think Georgia is way better than they played last weekend. Games in the rain are throwaways when it comes to judging a team.

I have no delusions that this isn't a huge uphill battle for us but Saban showed the blueprint, if you can completely blow up the Dawgs blocking scheme their offense becomes far less formidable. There is no doubt Odom sees this, but the point is, Harris, Augusta, Beckner, Brady, those guys are capable of doing exactly what is needed of them. We need them to all come out and have their career games, but they are all capable of doing exactly that, we have yet to see the top end of any of these kids.

At that point you have the offense (FL or GA) forced into short game, and then it's a matter of the LBs and Safteys coming up and "laying wood" as we used to call it. This is also seemingly in Odoms 'wheelhouse of knowledge' so to speak. Not trying to get you over optimistic, SEMO, just saying don't be surprised if, now that the O is not dumping on the team w/ one bad series after another, these games don't wind up being far more winnable than we would have predicted after the first 4 games of the year.

I'd rather keep my mouth shut, have low expectations, then be pleasantly surprised if we kick arse.

I agree, it's possible. Just not betting on it. Not on this team, and not this year.

I think we have an outside shot because of how well we defended Chubb last year.

Yes, he had a lot of yards, but when you look at the fact he carried the ball 30+ times, it's not all that impressive.

Mauk killed us last year vs UGA and the defense just wore down.

I don't expect that to happen this year, but I also don't expect to win a game in Athens again.

Hit the nail on the head. We actually did a good job shutting him down for about 3 quarters. But might have been mauks worst game between turn overs and 3 and outs. I bet the average drive was around 1 minute. Defense wore out and Chubb had his way at the end of the 3rd going into the 4th

If this game is on SEC Network I'm throwing my TV out the window.

Get a Roku and Sling TV subscription.

And Sling TV will pick up half the tab on the Roku. LINK

Try it 7 days for free. Easy-peasy.

I tried this. I didn't have good results. I have a decent Charter speed on the wifi and it buffered incessantly. Not normal? Normal?

I really wanted to ditch my cable.

Hmmm. Did you have the Roku 3? The 2's and 1's are clunky by comparison.

I have Charter cable and watched the Arkansas State game without a hitch. The quality was SD (or slightly worse), but there was no buffering. In fact, I'm not sure I can recall it ever buffering in the year-plus we've had it.

The only thing that keeps me from cutting the cord is multiple people wanting "their" shows.

Ditch it. Get SlingTV with a good internet connection. Like $25 a month, get ESPN and SEC network.

It's gonna take a lot more than that. The admin team love him since he's great for PR and brings in tons of money to our school. Basically, he's there until he retires or has 2 terrible seasons in a row.

figured UGA had the support regardless of who the coach is, but it's a point, as long as the big money donors aren't bailing, it's very unlikely such a move is made quickly. Sort of like recruiting, I would expect Pinkel to be able to recruit a top 10 class at UGA, which is something he's not come close to doing so far.

Richt is still losing "benefit of the doubt" support from the local media, when a Buck Balue starts doubting your ability openly you probably don't have long to do something pretty good to make up for it.

I'm not suggesting Mizzou will win either of these next two games, just that things look markedly different now than a few weeks ago, when they both looked like automatic loss's.

Yeah, the only time his job was in jeopardy was after the UCF debacle. He was told he had a minimum number of games to win.

Maybe, he runs his system and he doesn't care about stars.

Nah, Buck says the same crap after we lose a big game.

I have no idea how good or bad UGA is right now. It's somewhere between the Bama game and USCe game. We may win and we may get smoked. I'll know more after this week.
