Also heard on the radio that Ok St was ravaged by injuries the year prior to him arriving, and he had all of those guys back healthy this year.

So they went 18-14, made the tournament.

12-20 ravaged by injuries.

20-13, made the tournament. (Underwood's first year)

It seems, he took the same guys and put them back right around where they were before the injuries.

Also just read that they are going to interview Gottlieb

I don't get the whole line of thinking about being a job jumper.

He left Mo St for UT- no shite

He was ran off by UT fans- not really his choice

He left Cal for Mizzou- no shite

If he leaves Mizzou it would have to be a blueblood job (and maybe not even then) and if he got such a job, it would mean a hell of a run here.

Mo St. - won conference title, NCAA yawned. He saw the writing on the wall and got to a Power 5 jobs as quickly as he could.

UT - delusional UT fans were calling for his head AS he made a run to the Sweet 16. He wisely left that den of crazy when he got the chance. Apparently UT BBall fans are convinced the team should be challenging for national titles regularly.

Cal - Well documented in this thread. Hard to regularly recruit successfully in modern college B-ball climate when school is holding your players to Ivy League academic standards. Especially if you are up against Hollywood programs like UCLA, USC, and Oregon and regular national power Arizona.

This should give you an idea of the climate for CM at UT.

As the tension grew in Knoxville -- customers at his wife's store alerted her that some members of the fan base had turned against her husband in his final season -- Martin decided to hire a security firm. That's what you do when 40,000 people don't want you around.

The vibe had changed internally, too. According to a source close to Martin, a booster pulled Martin's access to a private plane on the day of a recruiting trip without explanation. Tennessee reduced its men's basketball budget by $1.6 million between 2010-11, which was Pearl's final season, and 2013-14, which was Martin's last season in Knoxville, per CBSSports.com. Football coach Butch Jones flew on a chartered jet to SEC meetings in Florida; Martin drove eight hours.

The Florida coach probably doesn't drive to the Florida meeting. Unbelievable.

I thought Haith got a little rough treatment. That's crazy.

If this is true, and I have no reason to doubt it, I don't blame the man for bolting. That's pathetic.

He'll probably take a pay cut from his radio job too.

Very, very interesting information there. I didn't follow his departure from Tennessee very closely.
