Since most people are already set on the trip, I assume you wont need advice on hotels. If you do ill provide what i can from experience of staying in Nola.
People staying in BR: downtown BR is the place to be, its got the most things to do and its untouched by the flooding.
3rd street: this is your safest bet downtown, it has plenty of restaurants and bars. Tsunamis is excellent sushi, it is pricey but it has a cool feel.
My favorite bar downtown easily Happys, its sort of an irish pub. The girls look good and they rock school girl skirts. The drinks are well priced and they have a stage on their patio. They get great music.
If you are downtown during the day on friday, downtown seafood is a nice hole in the wall. City grill is excellent, i suggest a banger shrimp poboy, its not on the menu but they will make it for you.
closer towards campus IMO the best pizza is in a run down looking building called the Pastimes. its pizza and cheese fries are top notch. the bar is dim but fun.
Right beside campus you will find the oringal canes and The Chimes. The chimes has good seafood and drinks.
Tailgating, I wouldn't spend much time on the parade grounds, that is where most of the frats tailgate. they do have things to do on the parade grounds and by the union. Our tailgating is spread out so just walk around and enjoy.
I'm about to run to the braves game, but ask questions and I can answer and ill come back and update with things to do for those getting in tomorrow and friday and Nola tips

Thanks, tried to upvote, but my cracked screen on my phone hit the downvote. Just didn't want you to think someone was being a dick

Put this game on my calendar the day the schedule came out. Super excited to go to Tiger Stadium for a night game.

If you get tigerbaited just laugh or pick back. Most people do it to get a rise out of you and then will offer beer and food.
If y'all are going to be in Nola: hit up Nola brewery it's in the Irish channel district. They are probably second best beer in la, and crush Abita. They also have legit food in their tap room.
Dday museum is a must see in Nola. It's stunning and will take all day.
However right across the street from it is a smaller building which is the confederate history museum. This one has the most actual artifacts I have ever seen in a museum. It is well worth the 8 dollars.
The New Orleans art museum is really nice for the day.
It will probably be packed but if you go to the cafe du monde for beignets. It is right across from Jackson square and the St. Louis cathedral. If cafe du monde is packed then keep heading down the street and you will hit the French market.

Asking for a friend.

Hey, hbt, a couple people have had questions about parking. Can you leave your car overnight and come back to it on Saturday? And where is the best place for game parking? Thanks!!

Yes you can leave your car overnight on campus. Parking is free on the old front 9 lot and the levee lots. The Leeve lot is a walk to get to the good tailgating.
You can also park in the ag center, I think on most maps it's labeled ag center or Parker collisium. That is another free lot.
Parking in Nola: I suggest harrahs casino garage. You can park and get a free players card and play slots for 30 mins for free 24 hour parking. I usually drop 20 in the slots, have 2/3 drinks and by that time hit my 30 mins of play. Worst case you paid 20 for parking but you got 3 free drinks, best case you are winning money to park.

Whatever they do they should not pay to park at someone's house

The other thread reminded me, don't go to superior in Baton Rouge for Mexican. I like smoked foods but they over smoke everything and it's over priced. So if you want to have a bad time and pay out the arse then superior is the place.

It was deleted but I said -- SOON.
Don't soften up our mental state with this paddy cake, bakers man stuff.
Very soon.

Nope, miles is gone so season is a win.
We win out and coach O is legit so we are forced to keeping him. If we don't then we get a new coach. We are off the shite wagon circle we were on. Now we might fall off for a few years but we will be back.
