Looks like the absolutely best thing that could have happened to Mizzou. Thank God for having 2 media markets. ESPN did us a solid when they escalated the SEC contract if they took us. Think about it, Mizzou earns twice what Clemson, FSU and Miami earn. WOW!

Watching all this from the SEC Balcony is quite entertaining.

One of the rare times Mizzou didn't get in their own way.

Very happy we said no to the junior membership offer from the big10.

Now we need to start winning on the gridiron.

Yep. It's time for Drink to field a competitive team in the SEC.

Mixzou got fortunate and made the move when it needed to be made. We just need a consistent product and some success to get some more momentum at Faurot.

As I said on the main board, as an Arkansas fan I completely understand where you are coming from. We could see the SWC circling the drain just like y'all could see the Big 12 circling the drain.

Frank Broyles getting us into the SEC far eclipses the national title he won at Arkansas in football.

You know, a dumpster fire is a lot of fun to watch. But not so much when you are the ones in that dumpster fire. I'm damn glad I'm not a fan of a PAC 12 school.

We got into the SEC for two reasons 1. Mike Slive 2. Bernie Machens President of Florida (Webster Groves alum) they knew Mizzou was the get

You never know what will open that door. For Arkansas, believe it or not, it was probably our second most heated rival, Ole Miss. They went to bat for us and while we might have gotten in without them it sure smoothed things out.

The SEC had been approaching Missouri once every decade or two going back to the 1940's at least. There was an article in the STLPD in 1991-ish on it.

How did Ole Miss help you get in?

The leaders who navigated that deal for us should be praised.

I'm not sure which one of those 2 TV sets falls in but we primarily made it because we brought 6 million TV sets for the SEC network subscriptions.

At the time we were playing them every year in football and some other sports. So they went to bat for us that our facilities were up to SEC standards (our on campus football stadium actually took a bit to get there) and we had a loyal and passionate fan base.

It helps to have someone in your corner come expansion time. Especially since that was the first real major expansion.

Only the best and brightest go to that prestigious institution, also known as Harvard of Missouri.

But for real, did he actually go there? I never heard that name.
