It's such a joke, it has nothing to do with curing cancer, or creating awareness, it's just total BS in every possible way.

It absolutely has to do with raising awareness! The thing is, though, that it's now been overdone. And every team does it because no one wants to be the one to not support raising awareness of breast cancer. As a marketing/PR/fundraising campaign, it's needing some updating.

its all fricking politics nowadays man... if we didn't have it the whole country(mostly our fellow yankees) would be bitchin about how mizzou thinks all women with breast cancer should all die off already. you know, because we don't "spread the awareness" of something that everybody is already aware of.

It's actually a common theme with not for profits. Convince people to donate because they don't want to be perceived as not supportive. I've seen it happen many times.

There are a few layers to this, I'm not gonna open up this can of worms.
I'll just say that we know how to prevent cancer, and we know how to kill cancer. All of this 'stand up to cancer' and 'breast cancer month' stuff is a charade.

I went straight to the second page and had to back out to see if I clicked on the wrong thread. Gold turned into yellow which turned into pink.
