Diarra transfers. Jamarion Sharp announces he is transferring right after.

Do we finally get the 7’5 beast.

how would a player like that work in Gates's defensive system? I dont think it would.

No thank you. It made sense last year when the idea was just to put together a decent team in year 1. With the momentum of this season, we can absolutely do better.

Rebounding was the most glaring weakness this year and y’all would turn down the biggest player in college basketball? He’s relatively agile too, he probably moves better than Diarra. If he wants to come here we take him no question

Jamarion has been consistent in rebounds - 7.6 in year 1, 7.7 in year 2. This is at the MM level. I cant see his rebounding increasing in a harder conference with a lot of good bigs. That said, his rebounding isn't elite, and many in the portal can do just that - and add offense which he does not have. His shot blocking is eye opening, for sure. I'll be honest, I bet Diarra has similar stats to Sharp next year(minus block shots).

So with this said, at this point in the portal I'd feel confident in passing due to the chance of getting someone better. - I wont be upset with getting Sharp, just think we can get better.

Gates can do better than that? We will wait and see. He knows what is best for the team. Let him do his thing.

Yes, Gates can do better than a 7 and 7 guy coming off a T25 team. Now, perhaps Gates wants the shot blocking - so be it.

That's a foolish take. You act like Mizzou will have their pick of the portal. What other big men have we been tied to? Lampkin from TCU, who averaged 6 and 6 and seems to have character issues. Sharp is a top 20 player who will enter the portal. In the right program he could be an absolute game changer. Not to mention a he's 68% from the field in his career, on pace for top 10 all time

Bc he shoots like 4 shots a game ha. Lampkin also has what, 2-3 years left? There’s still 10 days, likely a thousand more kids will enter. I’m not acting like we get first Dibs, I’m just saying other than shot blocking, there’s absolutely nothing special about sharp.
