Remember, Lock has a long way to go with reading defenses. His scheme only requires him to read half the field, but he will need to continue to learn to read the whole field.

In today's NFL a first round QB plays immediately and needs to be successful from day one. If the OL continues to protect him at a high level, a Senior year could make him a number 1 pick. Heisman buzz?

Insert Jared Goff.

You all are out of your minds if you don't think there's a 95% chance Lock goes in the first round, likely top 10, even more likely top 2 after his junior year.

The guy has it all.

It's not always about what's best for the player. Of course he'd likely benefit from playing his senior year. Insert Gabbert. Unless he's hurt next year he's going to leave.

We should just prepare for that now.

That's not true. That's only a portion of our offense. We have several plays where he is required to go through progressions.

Above that though, it's just not that relevant.

He has the size, arm and athletic ability to be a first round pick. Barring an injury, that's what he'll be.

Rosen from UCLA will be the top QB in the 2018 draft. But really that's about it, no one else has better physical tools over Lock.

Maybe a couble others Francois from FSU
The dude at Louisville, but he's not as advanced as a passer.
Texas has a QB, that might be there with Lock.
All are in the same class.

Unless Lock has a stroke, he will be drafted in the first round. His release and ability to push the ball downfield is elite. Throw in the fact that he can move the pocket and he is a no doubter in the draft.

It is less about scheme the QB played in college and what the the OC and QB coach think they can do with a player in OTAs and the preseason after interviewing him. If playing in a pro style offense actually mattered, Every Alabama QB in the last 8 yrs would be an NFL starter.
