The run versus throw percentage is a little deceptive. How many runs were drop backs by Maty where he took off? He had 11 rushing attempts. I'd guess quite a few of those were not designed QB runs.

True. Minnesota had 3 sacks which were presumably designed passes and Mauk ran 11 times, which if all were originally designed pass plays means we tried to throw the ball 33 times. Probably more in line with the intended distribution.

Be happy with Mauk. Dude is a gamer. He has won us a lot of games. Coming through in the clutch. Look at his 4th quarter numbers, they are amazing. This was his first year as a full time starter. Plenty of other schools would kill for the year he had as a first year. Experience will take away 2014 Georgia games. Also, more than 2 legit receivers would help.

If QB analysts like Jesse Palmer and Greg McElroy are to be believed Mauk's footwork is beyond abysmal.
What are the chances MM and his hands-on daddy let a real quarterback guru work with him?
Someone like Mike Martz would do wonders with him.

Yes. He looks very mechanical and wooden with his progressions and decision making.
Is this due to his high school system allowing him to freelance on every play?
If so, he's basically starting from scratch as an actual quarterback. Hopefully he improves.

Surg, everyone has their own perspective. Why wouldn't a WR want to come to Mizzou? There is an opportunity to play right away. Mizzou is coming off 12 and 11 win seasons, Mauk will be a junior next year and should be better. Odds are Lock will redshirt so if you are a WR recruit he in the wings. Love Mauk's heart.

I'm just going by comments when I was at the Chicago Nike camp. Now do I believe every kid pays attention to who the QB is ...NO. But do their HS coaches fill their heads with the QB perspective...Yes.
Like I said, I was surprised my son was critiquing LSU's situation. Turns out, a coach told him to pay attention to that as we start the process.
Even at the camp they talked to the WR's about watching where certain recruits chose to go to school. My son honestly will probably end up pitching somewhere (he hopes LSU) so he will never be a top WR recruit as baseball is his number 1 sport. I can only imagine how much info and advice is thrown at the top kids. I learned a lot this past summer about D1 recruiting, it's vicious. I can absolutely see HS coaches telling their best recruits to pay attention to MM's numbers.

There are few schools in the sec/nation that have had the string of talent/ future potential at qb the mizzou has had for the last 8 or so years

SEMO, I saw Printz play in HS, and he has every bit as much "potential to develop" as Mauk, which is why I think he should do himself a favor and move on.
He has a much more orthodox style than Mauk and really passes the "looks like a Div1 QB" test. Given the vast amount of time MM has absolutely struggled to not look lost this season, if we have to watch him try and develope for the next 2 seasons, that's fine, but there is no reason for Printz to stand on the sideline watching.

Quitters mentality. Printz is a snap away from starting next season. Every year at every schools staffs are recruiting players to come in and compete. There are no guarantees.
