That takes the sting out of losing yesterday. And yes, I am at the Big 12.

I hope Briles and Bowlsby eat each other.

I'm glad we escaped, but my knee jerk reaction to Ohio State jumping TCU and Baylor is that it's still a rigged game. The committee is going to give every benefit of the doubt to the established blue bloods.

Just like we knew that if the outcome of yesterdays SEC CC was ever in doubt, the refs would take over, there is some truth to it, blue bloods "pay the bills" after all.

They still don't play anybody or have a signature conference winner in the beev12. When they add UAB and Dakota State to their "conference" they will crow about their "one true champ", ie the tallest pygmy and give us some more fodder for guffaws.

that's why you can't put your heart into it, sports are BS. Money ruined a great game.

I wouldn't be surprised if Wisconsin was told to lay down and they agreed. That was an unbelievable game. Literally.

Agree with this 100%.

The playoff will expand. You can count on it. The B12 being left out or any other power five left out begs for more teams in the play off. It was dumb to only go with 4 when there are at least 5 top conferences. They knew there would be outrage when someone was left out.

Also, I think the way TCU has played, they deserve a shot. B12 team or not. They are good. Not having a CCG I think hurt them. Still, you can't deny they are impressive.

I think they could beat tOSU.

Could be nothing, but just maybe part of decision of not putting in TCU or Baylor is because the B12 doesn't have a CCG.

The big 12 is a joke, and always a few years behind the curve. The entire conference structure and model is flawed. From refusing to launch a conference network, to their unequal revenue sharing model, to it's failure to respond to key departures with appropriate expansion to the cessation of its conference game, they have simply destroyed themselves. Well, actually, Texas has destroyed a very solid conference with its greed. And as a spectator it is both sad and funny to watch. I still feel badly for Iowa State though.

I'm not convinced. I do think not having a championship game did, and should, hurt them. frick the Big 12 for not having one. Their fault. TCU could have helped their cause by playing real teams. They have zero wins that make me go wow. kU? ISU? Samford? Texas? SMU? Okie State? TTech?

I'll give them decent but not impressive wins against Minnesota, KSU and OU and I'll even stretch it and say WV was a decent win. They lost to Baylor.

That's good but not so good that I think they deserved a birth in the playoffs.

I think they got screwed. esp. TCU who would run circles around Ohio State, but I think Baylor would too. The whole co-champ thing probably hurt them. TCU did lose head to head vs Baylor. But then one can argue that their only loss was to a highly ranked team, also in playoff contention.

Just glad Mizzou does not play TCU

I still don't drink the SEC kool aid. Why is it now an issue of not having a championship game? The Pac-10 and Big 10 didn't until the last 3 years. The Big 12 had one until the last 3 years. I've never heard this point be made before. I've watched all the playoff teams, and TCU is the only team I would feel confident about in the playoff. A 4 minute meltdown (helped by the refs no less)away from home is no reason to leave them out.

You are correct on the financial front. Texas has screwed 11 other schools by going to espn before the conference.

They should not have been leap frogged by tOSU. Baylor or TCU. All that amounts to is a committee taking care of a blue blood program. I still look at the B10 being on the same level as the B12 competition wise. tOSU should not have made it past TCU or Baylor.

I remember when all this playoff talk started. At first, it was to include conference champions playing each other and runner ups playing each other. Somewhere along the way, someone decided they better pick teams to protect the pinnacle programs. It should have stayed with letting conference champs play for a national title. No CCG, no shot at playoffs.

I guess it comes down to who will they add? They realize now that they are going to have to make additions. Or you would think they are figuring it out. I don't expect the other conferences to give them a waiver on playing a CG without the 6 teams divisions. It would be of no benefit for the other conferences to grant such a request.
