Mizzou baseball wins a Friday night start

Of course, Houck got bumped from the Friday night start. Cole Bartlett through a complete game. Good game for him and he might have just improved his draft stock.
Houck on the other hand, who was once in consideration for the #1 overall pick in the draft, is now being graded as late 1st round maybe 2nd round pick. Supposedly he got bumped as Friday night starter because Ole Miss played some shenanigans with the start time and didn't give Houck enough time to warm up.
Good win but Ole Miss isn't all that this year. I think they've only won like 1 SEC series themselves.

Defense behind Houck this year has been brutal.

The defense, no matter who has pitched has been brutal.
Houck just has not been the Houck we have seen in the past. His velocity is down. He doesn't have the same control. Not sure what's going on with him.

That sounds like elbow or shoulder problems. Might need to rest him for a week or so.

His run support has been pretty bad too.

That's true. But he's still not the same pitcher. Scouts can see through a W-L record if it's because of bad defense or lack of run support. His stock is dropping for a reason and it's not his W-L record.
