Name I have no reason to believe is a #Mizzou candidate but was suggested to me and I like: Colorado State coach, former UGA OC Mike Bobo

Offensive side, check. Heavy SEC experience, check. HC experience, limited but check.

What ya think?

Why not go with Bobo's ex-boss in Richt?

Maybe Bobo is 41 y/o, Richt is 55? But I get your point.

I thought about that after I posted but I'm thinking Richt has 10 yrs left AND a chip on his shoulders.

For me I'm good with Richt and then Odom but Bobo is intriguing.

I really like that kind of chip on Richt's shoulder.

Only the idiots, of which our fanbase has a ton.

Bobo is at worst the 2nd best OC we've ever had. He shattered school records before leaving and developed some hella QBs. People with a lick of common sense loved bobo and realized how much he meant to us.

No, at least not publicly and not right now.

If we whiff on our top options he'd be a good fall back, but we have higher guys on the radar at the moment.

If you believe RUMORS, and I can't say one way or the other so at this point I have to just take it as that, a rumor...is that mcgarity didn't want to pony up the money to keep bobo so more or less said "welp..see ya later".

I wouldn't take Bobo just because it's his first year at CSU and he's playing with McElwain's players.

I've kept my eye on bobo out there. Teh casual person wants to say "mcelwain won 10 games out there! Bobo couldn't keep it going!" without realizing that CSU lost a FOUR THOUSAND yard passer and 1300 yard rusher from last year. Basically the 2 pieces most responsible for those 10 wins were gone. Despite that, he led them to a respectable record, including 2 losses in OT (in his 2nd and 3rd games ever as a HC).

I have no doubt that within 3 or 4 years bobo will have that program running smoothly.

Uh...no. We hated his play calling his first few years. But we loved him and hated to see him go, especially since we finally got a new DC that could coach.

I think Bobo will do a great job where ever he lands next.

Wasn't Bobo a QB for you back in the '90s after Zier?Or am I mistaken?

correct. We had another small white dude in between but he got hurt in the mid90s so bobo played some. Bobo was also hurt in 1995 so Hines Ward was our QB. Bobo took over for good the late end of 96 and all of 97. He did fairly well in his senior year, throwing 65% for 2800 yards with 19 TDs and 8 int.
