That group didn't stay together. They did have lots of potential though.
Based on how they played last year Puryear and Walton were better than Wright and Gant.
They need more guys around them, but it's a group of 3 that can all be really good college players.

When one of the HS players Haith and Fuller did the leg work on can do more than make a shoe smell, I will be shocked.

Jankovic ended up having a decent career. Jury is still out on JW3, Gant or Wright.

This. Hell, I wouldn't even waste the gas money to drive to downtown STL to watch Illinois beat us yet again.

Yea I'm still think Teki, Wright, Gant, & J3 will have really good careers.
Mizzou could make the NCAA had all of those guys stayed and developed. That's what Mizzou needs more than anything right now is a couple of experienced developed players.

JW3 wasn't recruited by Frankie and Timmay. Wish he would have stayed. He and Puryear playing together last year would have been nice

A nice career at Hawaii? Stefan might as well say he is the world's tallest midget. He declared early to get a headstart his career overseas. Best of luck to him.

Wright's feet and hips aren't good enough for him to matter on the perimeter at either end of the court. The fact that he isn't a very good shooter doesn't help either.

Aside from being able to tie his own shoes and commit 5 fouls, Gant isn't and won't be a difference maker. He was outclassed in the SEC, it doesn't get any easier in the ACC.

I'll refrain from saying "and a new head coach".

Ok, I laughed. Still was respectable and the fact he got invited to play in the summer league tells me he did more than make shoes smell. Maybe a jock too.

You could say that too.
I'm still interested to see how Puryear, Walton, Barnett, & Phillips develop this year.
If they develop KA might keep his job. If not Barnett will have played for 4 coaches in 4 years.

Will agree on Puryear, Walton and Phillips. Not expecting much from Barnett unless I'm wrong that he can't play until 2nd semester.

Barnett can't play until mid December. But if he can come in and be a legit top 3 to 4 player with the other 3 is KAs only chance.
Probably need at least 6-8 conference wins. Even that may not be enough. A new AD may want his guy.

his dad didnt sign on to be a coach at washington, for sheyats and giggles.

he left, because Michael was going there.

Porters and Romar are tight, this was a lock when porter sr left Mizzou for Washington.

6? My mind would be blown.
8? Just see no way possible.

I just don't see Barnett stepping right in and contributing like hoped for. Plus, he pretty much plays Puryear's spot on the floor.

I didn't say that's what I thought would happen, it's what needs to happen.
I do twirly much about positions. I just want guys that can play. Barnett had a lot of hype and a high recruiting ranking in high school. He needs to fulfill that hype to prevent having a fourth coach in four years.

He has moved multiple times, including now to Washington for his final year of HS. Sure, his sisters will be here, but lets not act like he is truly a homegrown guy. They moved here just before he started HS.

Meh, it's basketball.

Who cares?

You say you do, but honestly, you don't.

I care more about Mizzou men's basketball than football. I think that may be the case for those of use who were brought up on Woody/Stull in the fall and Norm in the winter.

For almost two decades you chewed through the gristle of the football season before actually enjoying Mizzou sports. Those were my formative years, so my affection for Tiger basketball runs deeper.

You don't know the pain of being a Mizzou sports fan unless you have watched Kent Kiefer pump fake multiple times before being crushed or throwing an INT.

Ah. Bringing back blood-shitting memories of the Keifer/Johnson QB controversy.

Back when, with five games left we're doing rest-of-the-schedule bowl math. "OK, so if we can win at Okie St. and Nebraska, then knock off Colorado and OU at home..."

Blech...
