No excuses for Mauk cut his arse already, many kids have sick parents and don't act like turds. Same as having a bad home life and becoming a thug, sorry I can understand what is causing bad behavior BUT that does not mean it is acceptable or gives them special "get out of jail" free cards.

Cool bruh, good luck to your child on his way to President

Dude, fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice, shame on you.

This is reoccurring behavior issues from Mauk, we're past the "kids make mistakes" point. We're in DGB territory at this point.

Seriously? This is comparable to DGB?

He went to a bar, got thrown out, which happens to lots of college men i'd imagine and then may or may not have driven home after drinking. Who exactly is he emulating with that choice?

I don't remember Pinkel being suspended for the rest of the season after his either.

Look man, if you want to make excuses for Mauk be my guest. I've made my fair share, and I've changed my behavior because of it.

When you get suspended for 4 games you don't put yourself in the position to get suspended again. This is called the "probation period". You do everything everyone asks and you stay away from bad situations, especially drugs and alcohol.

If you can't figure out how Mauk screwed up here, there's not much else to say.

I am not at all defending Mauk's actions, nor the suspension. I simply don't think this kid deserves the vitriol because of it. There are mitigating circumstances, and we don't know what's going on with him.

He is NOT on the level of DGB, beating the shite out of women et all and I don't think he should be treated like he is.

As an outsider I will say this... Mauk has some issues he needs to address and he can't do them where he is.

Let him go and wish him the best. Say what you will but the guy managed to win a couple of SEC division titles. A year away from football might do that kid a world of good. I hope so for his sake.

Let's remember he was arrested once before for issues with alcohol and a scooter.

He then gets suspended for 4 games for "unknown reasons"

Now he is suspended for what appears to be a drunken altercation at a bar.

The guy is in "DGB territory", not in the severity, but in the keep doing the same dumb shite over and over without learning from it part.

I have no vitriol towards Maty Mauk. I'm saddened that he can't get his shite together, and frustrated at how his behavior has impacted the team. But I certainly don't wish him ill.

I do think it's probably time now to let him go and deal with his issues away from the program. The coaches have enough to worry about with our dumpster fire, and they don't need the distraction. You can't help someone who doesn't want to change.

I don't either and honestly had no thought about him as regards the team at all.

The young man was at the crossroads a month ago and is (apparently) continuing down a dead end street.

And it's got to be absolutely killing his father and family to see their son/brother throwing it all away.

I hope he gets the help he needs before his adult life becomes a trainwreck.

I feel the same. But i think it's time to cut ties with him. Pinkel and company have may too many issues affecting the team, and they don't need this distraction. Don't mean to sound cold, but releasing him is what's best for the team. Support him, get help for him, because we are decent people - but separate him from the team.

Eh. He may be closer to DGB territory than we realize as far as the magnitude of his problems.

I haven't heard the rumors of what happened. Just the vague one about a scrap and being drunk. Thing is, I don't personally know MM. So I really can't pass judgement. Was he suspended for fighting, being drunk or both? Is it related to the first suspension? I don't know. I have to rely on GP's actions. He tried to give MM a chance, just like DGB, just like Blaine Dalton. GP to me has been pretty consistent along these lines. So hopefully the kid can straighten his life out. If that's what he needs.

From the various rumors i heard and read about, it seems like he was at the fieldhouse, and hammered. Climbed up on the bar, started a bar fight and may have been inappropriate with a girl. The girl part seems questionable. Anyway, then he drove himself home in that condition. It got back to GP and that was the last straw.

That's pieced together from various sources. Either way, when you're just back and basically on probation, that's some stupid crap to pull. Obviously the kid has problems.

The girl part wasn't inappropriate. She has been showing off the napkin he wrote to her with his number and address on it.

My sources say he was hammered drunk...obviously happy about being back, (wrote "I AM BACK" on the note)...and some "questionable" fans decided to be jerks about the whole situation, including insulting him over his father.

I'm not saying his behavior was appropriate...but he was certainly provoked from what I hear.

Meh, he put himself in a bad situation, provoked or not. I wish him the best but it's time even if it means we don't score another TD this year

I'm pretty sure it's more than him getting rowdy at a bar. I heard from multiple people he got caught slinging drugs.

Caught by who? This past week? After he just got back on the team? Seriously?!?

If that's true... Cut. Him. Loose. Geez, what a dumbass. Surely he's not that dumb...

Here's the irony of this story; this all happened just hours after MM apologizes to the team and tells them he'll be the team leader he's supposed to be......just. hours. later.......after serving a 4 game suspension......I think something about a leopard and spots is appropriate.
