So McElroy doesn't even have Mauk as an option for a top QB. I'm not saying that Mauk is a top 5 QB but to not have him on the board at all!?

Mark my words, McElroy will be on Mauk's nuts by mid-season.

McElroy picked SCAR to win the SEC last year.

This a good sign for us then.

If Mauk shows the same kind of maturity, growth in understanding of the game and development in execution that Franklin showed going into his 3rd year, he could surprise some people this year. Franklin didn't exactly impress his first 2 years and showed signs before getting hurt in 2012 and really shined in 2013 IMO.

He did. Then as season wore on and he broke down his mechanics and accuracy issues, he cooled on him.

That said, he should have been in the 10 under consideration.

Just noticed. Did he have 2 QB's from LSU? Frickin' idiot. 2 from a school that I don't remember ever having good QB play, even with a QB who was drafted by the NFL. This has nothing to do with who may be the better pro or who has the better measurables, but based on who I think will be the most productive this season, my own stab at ranking the QB's:

1. Dak(MSU)
2. Johnson(Aub)
3. Mauk(MU)
4. Coker(Bama)
5. Dobbs(UT)
6. Kyle Allen(A&M)
7. Brandon Allen(Arky)
8. Towles(UK)
9. Buchanan/Kelly(OM)
10. Mitch(SC)
11. Ramsey(UGA)
12. Jennings/Harris(LSU)
13. Grier/Harris(UF)
14. McCrary(Vandy)

I admittedly know nothing about McCrary nor what Vandy has that might support McCrary. I also don't think that Mauk is necessarily a better QB than Coker but I think his experience is going to give him an edge this year. I may be reading too much into things, but I was really impressed with Mauk's maturity level at media days. I really think this year we'll see him grow into the position.

OM QB's are only that high because of Treadwell and their WR's. I think they'll make the QB better. As I type this, though, is Treadwell back from injury? I'm also a big Cooper fan and the reason I give Mitch a nod over the others. Really, 9-14 you can throw them in a hat and draw them out randomly.

A&M's guy may end up higher, but that's about the only argument I'd make against your list (and that's partly because of their offense).

Mauk will not be the starting qb in '16, and it's not because he'll leave for the draft.

Figure that out.

Haven't been on Tigerboard in forever.

But one of the greatest moments in that boards history was when Franklin got hurt and there was a good 4-5 pages full of Mauk puns.

Wanna make a friendly wager on that?

I Mauk you and your view, sir. I Mauk you!

Barring injury, Mauk will start his senior season over an inexperienced but talented Lock, who'll be redshirted this year and will have zero actual game experience starting in 2016 in order to have saved his eligibility. Expect Lock to get a few reps each game in 2016, though.

Ummm, yes he will.

I know everyone loves to crown the guy they've never seen play before but you are forgetting who our coach is if you think he's replacing a Senior/3year starter with a kid who has never taken a snap.

Not happening.

Over/under number of games TB starts screaming for GP to pull Lock's redshirt?

I'll put it at 6.5

Yes he will. Not like GP to vary from that. I think Lock will get a good number of reps to prepare him for his RSo season, but Mauk will be the main QB in 2016.

That was one of the classic TB threads ever.

GP did it to Farmer Brad Smiths Freshman year. So it has been done, also had a time or 2 when he was at Washington when the incumbent didn't keep his job.

In this case though I highly doubt. Any of the backups usurp Mauk.

Why does our fan base hate all our QBs not named Brad Smith or Chase Daniels.

I remember when Franklin came back from injury in 2013 and people were bitching that Mauk should stay as the starter.
