He's the highest profile coach available. Otherwise we will be bidding against several big name schools like arky for the young up and comer coaches at mid majors after the season.

His recruiting classes at Lsu were all top 15 and at okie state they were all top 25 except his first season. He has a national championship.

If you heard the nubs game, however, it seems he might want to coach there.

Nebraska can't fire Reily yet from what I've read.

No to Miles though. An emphatic hell no, in fact.

He's 64 and looked every bit that the game had passed him by his last several years at LSU.

I would look at Morris, Norvell, or Wilson before Miles or Pelini

I would agree. The AD that hired him is still there, for one thing. He also had a decent year last year. And it's not like they lost to Bumfrick state. They lost to a good team with a good coach.

I also tend to agree Miles isn't the answer here. He's not a long-term solution.

Morris is almost assuredly going to be the next coach at aTm.

Can Arkansas fire Bert? He still has a hefty buyout. I think they may have to wait a year.

If OM gets substantial penalties, do they hold onto an interim a year?

What record ends Orgeron? Less than .500?

Same for Malzahn. Less than 8 wins? 9?

Well maybe look at Candle from Toledo, he played in college with Grinch. Maybe bring him back as the DC

Candle is interesting.

I'm going to be doing some more research on candidates now.

I'm not a big fan of the cliche/gimmick coaches but I almost feel like we need one at this point with the general malaise around the program

I think we should give Pelini a look. Midwest and SEC experience, definitely has a chip on his shoulder about what happened with Nebraska, and is a winner everywhere he's gone.

Best part, if he wins here and Nebraska keeps losing, the tears would be hilarious.

Candle only has 1 year of experience, not ready for the step up. IMO

Stories like this are why Pelini won't be back at a P5 school anytime soon.

So he played a kid with a record. Since when is that a big deal? Look at Winston.

Normally I wouldn't care, but the kid was a convicted racist.

It's a shame because I think he'd be about the surest thing we could get, but I don't see Sterk touching him

As a juvenile, isnt there a reason juvenile records get sealed? You dont think there's current players with sealed records?
