Outsmarted himself in the second half. Stopped attacking trying to anticipate LSU adjustments.

Please tell me Stephen's never sees the field again.

OL raised their game.

Outsmart himself or was told by Eli to back off? We went away from the intermediate and deep routes in the second half and ran more with Shrader when we were gassing their D. We went nowhere when that stopped. We marched again with ease when we went back to it because desperation drive.

Infuriating.

I think he figured LSU would make adjustments to stop the chunk plays so the short passes would be open. Problem is you return to last year's offense, you get last years Brady Cook. He's much more confident in rhythm attacking with intermediate to long throws.

Play calling in the 2nd half cost the game. Moore won't make that mistake again.

Do you understand some quarterbacks have a limit to what they can do? He was never a D1 quarterback to begin with. He is getting better but there is a reason 4* and 5* are much better and can do well against team with a good defense.
That last interception was underthrown, and he should have thrown the ball higher up and the receiver had to stop and turn. There is a reason Brady is a 3* quarterback.

He wilted under the pressure.

Looked like UGA last drive on those 2 plays for sure. My problem is why a short throw when you needed to go at least medium range throws, which LSU could not stop all day.

We will have to wait and find out what is going on with Cook throwing the ball short and not over where the receivers can continue to run after catching the ball. I see that way too many times. Can't do that against any team with better talents on defense.

You can't play a game hoping and praying for the win. And to win today Cook had to play a flawless game, we saw the result. Drinkwitz stop the bromance and coach.

LSU did make adjustments on offense and defense. They played more constant Zone in the second half. he didn't feel as if he could get into the situation to take a shot down field. if our D would have stopped them in the second half he may have. If Mevis makes the 44 yard field goal it is a different game.

There is a few plays or calls that might have changed the game.

1. The face mask no call when Cook was sacked would have bailed us out of a punting situation.
2. Mevis Missed FG
3. With 1:52 left 2nd and 1 incomplete pass to Burden. 1:40 left 3rd and 1 the worst penalty of the season a false start. Next 3rd and 6 botched snap, sack, fumble 26 yard loss. That penalty might be what changed the outcome of the game

LSU kicker missed a chip shot so that is a push at best

Mevis kick was a 44 yard attempt and was short. At that distance Mevis should never be short. Live it didn’t look like it got blocked, but ESPN said it was. It looked like a bad hold and rushed kick.

From ESPN
quote:

4th & 5 at LSU 27 (11:27 - 3rd) Harrison Mevis 44 yd FG BLOCKED blocked by Harold Perkins Jr.

Was it partially blocked?
