They may think they're willing to lose. Those old coots will be the first in line calling for Alden and CKA's heads after a couple of .500 seasons.

So we aren't supposed to hire someone associated w/ Norm because... what? Some ahole in STL says he's a racist because he is white?

So we hired a guy who clearly understands the game of basketball and has proven he knows how to win, something we haven't really seen at Mizzou since.. oh yea, NORM!

well jesus what the hades where we thinking.

You don't hire D2 coaches to run D1 programs. He understands the game of basketball? Awesome, put him on the bench. We could have used a guy like that after Nestor left.

BTW:

Gabe Dearmond direct messaged me on Twitter a few times. I am in the process of telling him about our joke.

He seems like a cool guy.

I'm thinkin he will be on the bench and we could have used someone like that for the last 2 and a half decades, at least now we have someone.

It's pretty clear Alden doesn't know shyt from shinola about hiring up and coming coaches and even if he did would have trouble selling him on MU basketball over the other jobs he could get.

I'm tired of watching teams that play with no intention other than streetballing hoping they can out talent the other team. Let's see some ball that isn't based on "chuck it in the hole from outside, you can't score if you don't shoot" theory. Right now I just want Anderson to make Alden look like an idiot for not hiring him 2 coaches ago.

No D1 team from a power conference will look like an idiot for not hiring a D2 coach. Because none of them do that.

Except us.

And that's why I'm done supporting basketball. At least for now. Very disappointed. I wish the very best to CKA, but I'm just no longer excited about Mizzou basketball.

I am horribly disappointed. There were so many better candidates. This is as disgusted I have ever been about a Missouri hire, maybe in my life, certainly since the dreadful Babs dark years.

I've already sent Alden an email expressing my displeasure. With his track record in hiring basketball coaches (and other coaches for that matter), I now am considering that the next termination at Missouri may need to be Alden's.

Norm Stewart was a D-II coach with no experience. Bo Ryan was a D-III coach with 2 years of D-I experience (30-27 record) and has taken Wisconsin to 13 straight tournaments in the B1G, so yes it does happen. He was hired at the age of 54.

Is it the best situation, no, but it can be done.

I am finding out I am a glass half-full kinda guy today. Drinking the Kool-aid I am.

A lot of truth and I respect that but there's also a time where you have to cut your losses and this is one of those times for me. I've been bitter about Mizzou basketball since the Snyder hire, in fact I did not watch them for the last two years he was there. I wanted to believe but deep down i know in my heart that this team can't win. It's time for me to move on. I still love MU football til the day I die though.

Completely understand! I was pretty pissed off when I heard the news at work. Like you I hope the B-Ball team does well but I am focused on football.

That doesn't even matter.
