Cardinal fans are such bitches about “the call”. Sure it was wrong and would have been the 1st out of the inning. Later he was forced out and the Royals scored 2 runs with only 1 out in the 9th. Andujar and the Cards pissed the bed and got blown out in game 7.

They did shite the bed Game 7, but to act like the entire inning wasn't drastically changed because of the bad call is a weird take.

Yes they got him at 3rd with the force with runners at 1st & 2nd and 1 out. Instead of a runner at 1st with 1 out (assuming Balboni still hits his single). Sunberg comes up and isn't trying to hit a sacrifice and they probably don't PH McRae at that moment.

Nice what ifs. The call as wrong it COULD have changed the outcome for sure. Championships are won though in reality not what ifs. I was a Sr in high school. Loved baseball and the Cards were my favorite team my whole childhood. I also liked the Royals but wanted the Cards to win. Went to college the next year and students from St. Louis were unbearable with the shite.

The problem is the Royals took it upon themselves to make him an honorary member of the club. Which is why I had no sympathy for them when they sucked for 30 years and still don't after their fluke seasons. Karma is a real thing.

I don't see that as playing "what if's" I see it as the inning is played completely different with 1 out and nobody on. Especially with the Royals who that year were a league average to below average team offensively that year.

ETA: and any fan-base in any sport, would have acted the same way with that outcome.

But it 100% is. Card fans act like the World Series was stolen from them. No one, including me knows what happens of he is called out. Any other outcome is pure conjecture of what could have happened.

You’re right, no one does, but it sure as hell changed the trajectory of the series, and he intentionally egged on Andujar the following night which got him and Whitey ejected. No one came to see nor watch from home your fat arse become the show. The sooner AI makes its debut in the big leagues the better.
