Amari Cooper played against 11 3* or higher rated DBs his SR year, 6 of them were 4* athletes. He had 33 receptions, 733 yds and 6 TDs playing in arguably the best division in the nation.

The best defender Thomas faced was Babb, who is a better WR than DB, and had 40 yds on 4 receptions. Thomas also had two balls taken away from him for INTs.

By all means, continue being amazed.

E cred? The fact that you believe such a thing exists suggests that you are a serial mouth breather.

Carry on.

No alter; I rarely post. I'm only upset with myself for repeatedly clicking on this link thinking someone might actually provide a new or unique perspective on the topic.

Could you express why you're displeased with me in this thread?

While it's not on-topic, I'd like to share something helpful:

It's not "guten hund" (if you want to say "good dog.") Das ist "guter Hund."

Glad to help :)

I'm not displeased with you.

Posters have a difference of opinion on Jeff Thomas. I don't see either side agreeing with the other side's opinion.

It seems like the topic is getting a thorough beat down...hence the "beating a dead horse" reference.

I could have posted as a reply to you or any others in the thread, don't take it personal.

In the 2nd generation of handed down Black Forest dialect spoken in my house in the 70's, it was Guten Hund! Then again I was called a dumme gans more than once by aunts and uncles, so maybe I misunderstood!

Laughing.

Dude, the comparison has nothing to do with who they've played against.

Thomas is a blue-chip recruit because people see his attributes. He's a silky smooth runner with explosion and advanced coordination with all of his movement.

To knock him for the competition he plays against and say he's nothing special and we can find 5'10 pass catchers like him with relative ease is ludicrous.

Funny how you skipped over the point against your camp argument -- that he had the same 'advantages' as the other WR's, the ones he was graded higher than.

You mean the one where he wasn't given a grade at all?

He would've had to participate in every category to have a rating, he just did the 40. A lot of guys didn't do all of the categories, resulting in no rating.

Your point that combines have zero qb pressure and the guys are in shorts and a t-shirt is noted, of course that's not real football, but every other WR at the event is working under the same circumstances, and he's done well enough to stand out as special -- which voids the point you made.

Your position is that he's just another 5'10 pass catcher which can be found with relative ease. That's absurd.

I'll take my chances with Nick Saban's opinion and the people who evaluate talent for a living over yours.

Ok, made me go look. We had 4.

Beckner - Personally never thought he played enough but I get it...they're going to work their rotations.

Simms - Played a fair amount as a true freshman.

Strong - Would have never really played if it weren't for injuries. Once he did play, he played solidly.

Taylor - Never really played.

Then there was the walk on from there who won the scout team player of the year (yes, really was an award given) but he wasn't listed on the roster.

Strong missed 3-4 games with an ankle injury, or would have played more.
