Is Mizzou getting better or is Georgia just not that good?

The reason that I asked is because Georgia the previous week barely beat a bad Nicholls State team by 2 and Nicholls State barely beat some high school team named Incarnate Word by 7 points. I believe Mizzou's real test will be against LSU, Tennessee and Florida. Can we judge them yet after playing a young, overrated and down Georgia team.

Not taking any credit from Mizzou, but just asking for opinions.

Mizzou as a full program is miles ahead of where they were in the Big12. We're better. And programs like Georgia aren't as far ahead of the pack as they used to be.

There's more parody in college football today than 10 years ago.

More athletes are training sport specific from younger ages, giving college football more high quality athletes ready to contribute.

Everything has to tick properly. The players, coaches, and system. The game is so reliant on systems it all has to work in perfect unison for dominance to happen.

Georgia is working out that timing. So are we.

This team is really good. Expect more of what you saw vs Georgia vs the other big names.

Mizzou is getting better. I do think UGA is overrated, but I would still say they are a top 25 team. Though they don't really have an identity yet, they still have elite talent on both sides of the ball.

I think we will be competitive with every good team we play, but it depends how we close the game. Sometimes we look unstoppable. Other times we shoot ourselves in the foot.

With that being said, we have certainly improved from last season. We at least have entertaining games, which is a huuuuuuge improvement from last season.

Looks like Mizzou has a great young QB, good young offensive line, and some good talent on defense. Could turn into a really good team at some point if they can quit making so many stupid mistakes. Hopefully that will improve with a little more experience.

No offense, but did you even watch our offense last year??

We couldn't put up 500 yards and 27 points in three games a year ago.

Mizzou is getting better.

Sorry. For some reason my arrow was translated into a question mark for some reason. I totally agree with the opinion.

You're right with everything else though. We are also miles ahead of where I thought we'd be this year.

I leave little things to test my children.

Good catch.

You pass today's test.

Agree, but with this line you are mistaken

Multi sport athletes are preferred by recruiters. Hell look at the NFL last year like 30/32 1st rnd picks were multi-sport athletes in high school.

jawja started off slow with a new staff. They are much better than the Nichols game. How much better we will know when we play LSU. Lot's of answers to be determined yet this season.

BTW given tenner, flawda, and LSU early results we can ask the same about them

I get what you're saying. And I agree, multi-sport athletes are desired. I don't think an increase in sport specific training and an increase in multi-sport athletes are separate, I think that's kind of a linked thing.

Let me back track and say overall we have a ton of jr high and high school kids taking their training more serious than professionals used to -- the norm was showing up to camp to get in shape (I know you know this). Plus youth sports have gotten better with more organization and travel -- allowing for higher talent to compete vs higher talent more often. Camps ect.

There's a base of way more athletes who have trained, eaten, ect like athletes from a much younger age than ever before. They may play multi sports. But there's definitely more kids being taught sport specific stuff and training to help certain sports at a young age.

I played a fall, winter, and summer sport. But I had one that I truly trained specifically and gave most of my attention to. I think that's pretty common.

Georgia is letting us down for sure. We still don't know what we have.

Ole Miss has a very talented team that can jump out to huge leads. They were whipping Alabama like a government mule until they had their second complete collapse of the season.

Georgia isn't this bad. Though they aren't great. And unlike Georgia Missouri has looked better with each game.

True.

So far, at least. I'm still hopeful we might pull an upset somewhere along the line. I still think we can get bowl eligible, but we don't have room for any mistakes.

1 would be nice... 2 isn't out of the question.

Last weeks loss, was a group effort. Curious what we see today, and over the next 2 weeks.

6--6 7-5 still seem reasonable.
