Although I have been to Columbia many times ( not for football) I have never had to stay in a hotel? What are some reasonable options? Any hotels that are a absolute no? Also which sections are the visiting team sections? Columbia is an underrated college town. Can't wait to make the trip.

Look into Double tree Hilton. Its right in the heart of the bars, brand new, 8th story rooftop bar. Normally slightly pricey, but I'd give it a try since its a weeknight.

You have the Hampton inn that's next to the stadium, that too can be pricey and hard to find rooms.

And tiger hotel, a historic hotel in the downtown, can also be pricey at times.

Now for the cheaper ones, there's a Ramada inn, and a days inn. Both are about 2 miles from anything cool, but still have tons of chain restaurants by them. And last the courtyard inn might not be a bad idea.

If you're younger/looking for nightlife, look into "The Broadway Columbia" Doubletree Hotel like the others said. It will be 100% worth the higher price. The rooftop bar is incredible, and as others said, it's downtown within a block or two of all the other major bars.

Be careful...the Tiger Hotel will screw you on room price. They'll allow you to book at one price and then up the price on you.

True - the Tiger Hotel is cool, but be careful.

Stoney Creek is a good option too, just walk down the road to the stadium.

This is correct, a new one I believe.

I second (or third) Stoney Creek. I'd try them.

Although I somehow haven't made it to the rooftop bar yet, if it's open air this is probably going to be a pretty cold night in November...

People walk from Stoney Creek? My god. It's like a mile away. What are you all? Triathletes?

People park in front of, and past, Stoney Brook for every game, it's not that far.

Thanks for all the responses. I lived in KCMO for about 6 years. But haven't been in the area in about 3 years. Dated a girl from Columbia for a bit so used to frequent the town often. I'm sure lots has changed since I was last there.
