Dead serious.

This culture is headed to a bad place.
It's anti fact and anti logic and anti education.

We will be looking for schools that value education and freedom of expression.

Upvote, no way would I recommend a placelie this to anyone in the future. I will avoid saying anything negative, simply "no comment" like the football players

My daughter is young enough that this might all be over by the time she would apply, but no way in hell would I let her go to Mizzou next year if she was a hs senior.

I'm leaning the same direction. I used to encourage the kids in my immediate family to go to a big state school. Christian/private is looking better all the time. State schools are a lost cause.

Unfortunately a lot of people are going to be thinking the same way.

I'm hoping we get it right in the aftermath.

I'm about to pull my daughter too who is a freshman. Probably for much different reasons. First week of school and some idiot is driving down the street in front of the dorms shooting a gun in the air, not at anyone, yelling, well I'm sure you can guess.

My kids get 50% off tuition going there and I am not sure if that is even incentive enough to let them go in a couple years.

reedus... Im going to need a link to a police report or something on this one my friend. Im sorry but Im going to have to see some proof outside of second hand stories.

A firearm being discharged on campus in front of a dorm with racial slurs being shouted and there would have been stuff all over the news and police reports made. I mean, a swastika made of shite by unkown people/person has ended up with a President fired.

Faculty forces Chancellor out. Students and football players push President out. University professors help suppress student photographer. Black students create hostile atmosphere in campus dining hall. What's your beef?

If you go back through the twitter feed for their alerts or whatever you'll find it. Beyond that kilo, I'm not here to convince anyone. To be honest, I didn't think much of what was yelled at the time. I was more worried about the fact that my daughter was that close. Weird thing is she never even knew until I called her when I got the alert.

Hell my nephew have about 5 letters from Mizzou football. Straight A student, etc. I'm to the point I want him to go to Arkansas, OU, or KU if racism is that bad on campus. This making national news will hurt Mizzou's recruiting. Don't want him going to a campus and being called names, seeing hate symbols, etc. He already deals with that shite on the road from opposing players. Mizzou will take a recruiting hit, nobody wants their family members going through that shite.

Hope people come out and say things aren't as bad on campus like the media is making it out to be!!!

But I was told that the only thing bad that has happened was a swastika made of poop.

That all of this was an excercise in social justice, with no real merit.

CNN reported that some black students was rehearsing a play, a white student jumped on stage or some shite and called them "Nigg*r" or yelled racial slurs. Police took him away. So I doubt if that is false. Police report on it. Heard of other racial incidents, don't know if there's police reports on those.

Well, bad depends on one's perspective. What may be bad for one person could actually be good to another.

I wonder what the married folks out there would do if I called their wife a c**t every time I saw her. My guess is they would actually be more violent than what we saw with this whole episode.

Man Im just going to bow out of this board until everyone regains some sense and composure. I have a lot of respect built up over many years for many of you but there is a lot of hyperbolic and emotional stuff being posted here.

I think many people need to take a fricking step back and take a breath.

There isn't a lot of perspective around here.

Shitty analogy. It wasn't one guy calling a black student this multiple times. It was several isolated instances (and if there were more isolated instances than what we know contributing to the outrage, they'd all be written up in the Maneater so squash that noise). Kid at my wife's school calls her a cracker bitch on the reg and I don't get to picket that kid's house. Nor do I want to.

We've become a sensitive nation of shrinking daisies.
