I watched a little of the OU versus those who shall not be named game last night. And I was struck by the inside play. There were 5 or 6 guys who would start ahead of Rosburg in that game.
Can we get a frickin center? Just one.

Why is the program trending down? Could it be that there are no players left from the suitcase era? No juniors or seniors that would be 3 & 4th year players in the program. Look at SLU, 5of it's 6 leading scorers are seniors and maybe Jett has an outside chance to play in the NBA of those seniors.
The comment about Mizzou' s history and that it should be a top program is far from factual. What history? Before CP got here Mizzou had among the worst facilities in the big 12. The athletic budget isn't anywhere close to the top dogs in the NCAA. Mizzou is fighting an uphill battle to be a top program. Somewhere in the forum is the RockMNation blog about continuity. Read it..

We will likely miss the tournament this year. And we likely lose Clarkson and Brown (and Ross). So we enter next year with our leading scorers being Rosburg and Clark with a couple of freshmen and JWIII expected to carry the load. Likely a tourney miss.
So we're looking at two years without a tourney berth and uncertainty looming larger and larger. I'm not sure how you can say that's even a status quo trend.

I like Haith. I was quite upset with his coaching last year, but have seen improvement in his coaching this year.
His recruiting has been nothing short of amazing, given the hand he was dealt. Bringing in Oriakhi, Brown, Clarkson, Ross, Price, Bello, Cam, and Post combined with 2 impressive freshman classes excites me about his future recruiting efforts.
In terms of player development, I am also pleased, and excited to see what he can do once he gets some continuity.

Jabari Brown has improved dramatically from his first year (playing) in the program to his second.
Earnest Ross has become much less volatile and streaky this in his second year (playing) in the program.
Ryan Rosburg has improved a decent amount between his freshman and sophomore season.
Of all the problems this team may have right now, the second-year players have all taken decent to significant steps forward.
In addition, I remember Kim English's development under Haith.

I don't know how much credit I give Haith for player development. A little I guess.
Brown was naturally going to get better. I see nothing that Haith has done to improve Brown.
Rosburg has improved but that's not saying a lot. He'll never be more than a few rebounds, 2 points and a bunch of fouls type of player.
Janko hadn't improved one bit before he left.
Criswell has regressed.
Ross I'll give him a little bit of credit because he hasn't been as wild lately. I understand why Haith would want him attacking the rim, but the guy just isn't a natural doing it and it leads to turnovers more often than not.
If I were grading Haith out so far this year, I'd probably give him a C or C+.

We disagree then. It doesn't really matter what we think though. Alden is the decision-maker. He took a chance on Haith, and since Haith has had the job, his resume has only gotten better. So, I don't see Alden considering a change until after the 2015-2016 season, and that's only if Haith doesn't make the tourney this year, and follows it up with 2 more bad seasons.

I agree with this and it's probably fair. I just don't have a good feeling about it and don't see any real data to make me excited. I will be perfectly happy to be wrong.

But we do agree on this.
Just because I'm concerned doesn't mean I think it's a good idea to get rid of the man.

Haith is a very young coach. And will, my opinion be a good one someday.NC is coming,in 5 years.
