Conforming to the narrative of course.

When you are so invested in an ideology you have to do these things to legitimize it.

Gary Pinkel wasn’t the same coach after we came to the SEC. I don’t know if it was the divorce, the change in leagues, the change in the level of competition or the cancer or age or all of the above.

I felt like his 2012 job was very similar to Odom last year in preparation and resignation to losing as well as a cancerous locker room.

I thought gong in that Mizzou had 6-7 win talent. A really good coach could have gotten more wins, but not 10.

A half way decent coach wins all 4 OOC games, UK, Vandy, SC, Arky, UT and probably UF. Not crazy to get to 10. 8 or 9 would have probably been a more reasonable expectation.

UT and UF are both much worse than I anticipated. Just from a talent standpoint SC, UK and Arky have more than Mizzou, their recruiting rankings over the last 4 years will show that.

GP had 5 wins 2 of his last 4 seasons.

He also had 2 double digit seasons against teams better than what we are facing this season.

GP also had an OL and DL full of NFL players. 4 of the 5 OL starters were 2nd round or higher draft picks in 2013. 3 of them played in 2014.
The entire 2 deep at DE in 2013 was drafted. There was also pros at CB, LB, WR, and RB.

A his year Mizzou has 2 sure pros in Lock and TBJ. Maybe a few of the young players develop into pros.

I think Fatoney will go to the NFL too. Maybe even a draft choice. If not, I think a team will take a flier on him.

There’s a few others that have think get drafted off of this team. Moore will get drafted, probably a mid round pick this year.
If Hall and Johnson continue getting better both will have a chance.
Albert O and Blanton both have a shot at being drafted.
Adams on the OL.

On defense Hall and Williams will have a shot if they continue to develop.

I doubt it. Maybe a UFA.

I suppose a chance but most likely no.

Wouldn't disagree with Albert O from what I've seen as long as he doesn't forget to be a blocker. Blanton I doubt.

I agree on Adams.

10-2? Mizzou's coaching staff was a dumpster fire his last year; no discipline and assistant coaches fighting like cats and dogs. And, Coach Pinkel allowed it..., did not stop it. His head and heart was not invested in football in his last season. We would not be 10-2 this season with Coach Pinkel. The talent on this team does not support it. Talent might support 7-8 wins had Mizzou players not "quit" during the first 5 games.

Oh please 2015 wasn't a represenative of Pinkel as much as it was the fact he had a QB go off the rails, a ridiculous protest on campus,oh and he had fricking cancer.

My point was Gary Pinkel with this talent wouldn't be fricking 3-5 right now. More than likely he'd be 6-2.

Change the order of the games this year to something like GP usually had and Mizzou is at least 4-4 at this point in the season.

GP usually played 4 noncon games before starting conference play.

Mauk wasn't great but while sane he was good enough to get us 8 wins.

I've wondered more than once had Mauk not fricked up how different things might be.

Say we get 7 or 8 wins....

- Do the players still vote to go on strike before the BYU game with a record of 6-3 or 7-2 instead of 4-5?
- Does Pinkel resign? Does enrollment drop 20%?
- Do Odom and Craig Kuligowski learn to coexist over time with Pinkel as head coach?
- Does DLineZoo continue to dictate to opposing defenses thus protecting the back seven?
- Does recruiting hit the bottom of the barrel depths of today?
- Drew Lock is brought along slowly and is a first time starter this year in 2017.

I wish we could go back to this type of scheduling.

Four noncon games to open were always good for working the kinks out before the meat of the season.

While I like the 4-8 type scheduling myself, the SEC likes to have conf games every week of the yr for TV purposes. So going fwd that is not going to happen, it only happeened for us in the first couple of yrs becuase the schedules were already set and the SEC did us a solid and worked around it.

Not with Ricker having his two deep set for him by the HC.

Not with Hill being forced to be a QB coach.

Not with Pat Washington as the WR coach.

They still wouldn't have the personnel to run a Tampa 2 vs teams with comparable talent.

You'd be looking at a 8 win max and we would be bitching about both sides of the ball instead of just the defense.
