I think he comes back for his senior season. Next years QB class is LOADED at the top. Allen, Darnold, and Rosen are all guys who could go top 5 with Allen likely being the #1 pick (probably would have been this year had he came out). Lamar Jackson offers so much upside and is a Heisman trophy winner. Not that I think he is better than Lock but some team will fall in love with him. Realistically Lock could be a late 1 early round 2 guy in next years class. But if he returns for his senior year he has all the potential in the world to be a #1 overall IF he progresses further. That would be year 3 of Crockett and Johnson. Mizzou would be in a much better place in the conference and could makes some noise again.

Oh me oh my. Not much else I can say. I have seen sunshine many times but never quite so blindingly bright. #1 overall, really?

He'll never be #1 overall. He will get drafted and he will make tons of money but never #1 overall.

He could go number 1. It would just take lots of development by Lock. The physical tools that Lock has are as good as any other QB.

He completed 54% of his passes last year and there are 4 QBs rated higher than him. I dont think its a sure thing he would be a 1st round pick.

Hey JQ, is that guarantee as strong as the one on Tilmon?

I am Leary with both but am thinking your Timon guarantee may be just slightly safer or at least I hope so. If Lock doesn't go in the first round which I suspect he won't, no unanticipated sweat on my arse, but if your Tilmon guarantee(jynx?) does not hold up it will truly disappoint

Pretty much every major draft analyzer out there. Between now and the start of the season I challenge you to find one analyst who doesn't have Allen, Darnold, Rosen, and Jackson rated above him. Lock has all the physical tools in the world but he has a long way to go. And this is not to say im not a fan of Lock. Just that based on the QB class this year, and where the team would be at in his SR I think he comes back. Because there is a big difference in pay from being a top 10 player and bottom round one player. Lock has his best chance of being a top 10 player by putting together a solid JR and SR season. 65% completion percentage, close to 4,000 passing yards each season, and winning season in each.

Drew Lock will be lucky to be a 3rd round pick and that's if he has a decent season this year.

Analysts don't make picks. Most were also saying this time last year that there wouldn't be one chosen in the first round. 3 were, and all of those teams traded up to get them. NFL teams get QB desperate. Happens every year.

Lock is the prototypical NFL QB and he'll wow scouts in shorts.

That's like saying KA could have won the national championship last year....if his team never lost a game.

In the meantime, in the land of reality, I will bet you pay checks that Lock doesn't go #1 overall.

I'm on board with ya. Don't know that he'll do it but would love to see it. Currently, I don't know what others are reading but I'm not even seeing Lock mentioned in the top 5 QB's coming out in the next class. I haven't seen who else would be in the 2019 draft, but he has a lot of guys to leap frog to be a first round pick much less the #1 overall pick.

2019 rankings will largely be based off the next two seasons of play with the foundation being built this year. At best in 2018 Lock is a 2nd round pick.

I think your comparison of KA is unfair. Lock was a 4* QB out of hs and has all the physical tools NFL scouts and coaches want. KA is literally the worst coach Mizzou has ever had. There are big ifs. But if Lock makes strides with Huepel, stays healthy, and be more accurate (which can come with better receiver play) Lock could develop into a guy worth #1 consideration in 2019. But he has no chance in 2018 unless he has a record setting year. My argument here is I really expect Lock to return for his sr season.
