This is literally a worse outcome than the one predicted by the most pessimistic fans last year. How do we only manage to get one of the MO 10?

We didn’t get one out of 10. We got 1 out of 1. Everyone else wasn’t that good.

Got 1 out of 9 that received a Mizzou offer. Mizzou can win 6-8 games a season with this level of recruiting, but to ever challenge Georgia for the SECE Mizzou has to start getting at least half of the in state players they target.

Georgia has 23 recruits with a 4 or 5 star ranking.

Georgia is going to be a major problem and that can be hard to take when 2 out of our last 3 meetings were 1 and 3 point losses.

This is the class we will always get. 1-3 4* recruits about 18 3* and 3-4 2* recruits. Thats Mizzou. It sucks but the fact is this team will be average to good mixed in with a few great years. It's going to take a coaching staff that can really develop talent. We will have a year every now and then where our recruiting exceeds expectations but dont ever let that be the expectation. Its the exception not the rule.

People said the same thing about basketball until this year.

We shouldn't have to settle just because "we're Mizzou."

The basketball program sure didn't and look at them now. What a turnaround

Basketball is so much different and there were many factors in play. In football one player can't sway as much as basketball. Also Mix in the fact that basically the entire Porter family was already here. If Washington doesn't fire their coach things are much different this year in basketball and thats a fact. Should we be getting out recruited by the likes of Baylor after a 1-11 season or Kentucky that has never been good at football? No. But this class that we signed is the class that we ALWAYS sign. This is Mizzou football.

...and that's why I always say that Mizzou fans and media will always accept mediocrity! "We just do what we do"

To add on, you want something different? You're gonna have to hire a head coach you dont like as a person. Lane Kiffin fixes recruiting. But Mizzou will hire good people and there's nothing wrong with that. You just have to hope they are good evaluaters and coaches.

The thing I find obnoxious is that if he's going to pick OU, don't leave it between MIZ and OU. A kid can do whatever he wants, but like E Elliot it does no good to your state school to let them finish second.

Swatting the Mizzou hat off the table was a nice touch as well.

I can sell you on a gourmet burger with a side of thinly cut lightly salted potatoes served under Golden Arches but when you see the product you’re still gonna know it’s mcdonalds

Nobody ever said that about basketball.

Basketball recruiting has a much higher ceiling than Football.

It’s a horrible class and Barry Odom’s staff has the about the same recruiting ability as Ole Kimbo Anderson’s staff. I’m sick and tired of getting absolutely obliterated in recruiting by South Carolina and Kentucky. We’re at the bottom of our division and conference every year after signing day. I’m sure our fans will try to spin this though. Sad.

Maybe you should just focus on basketball. I don't think football is going to bring you much joy.

I'm not sure why people have this enormously unrealistic view of what is possible.
