Couldn't we just sell tickets to a thunder run sacking of Lawrence.

TBH, I like that game. The one thing I can't remember right now regarding neutral site games is that something about limitations on having recruits at them. That along with the loss of local revenue makes me question if they are a good fit for us right now.

Interesting idea. I think you and 808 should get started on that.

They aren't though. You want to talk about nobody giving a damn...that's what happens when you play Indiana. Well, until you lose. Which is part of the point. The BYU/Texas game was a national broadcast @ 7:30 btw.

Teams play neutral site games against legit competition for exposure. Playing one game in Indiana over the past 3 decades didn't land us Brandon Lee. That's way overrated.

Now I agree that it would be better to play a neutral game in ATL or Dallas, but we are basically getting a 2 for 1 here which is great. Can't even get those from Sun Belt teams.

It got a .5 TV rating. Mizzou/Toledo got a .8 rating. Which one got more exposure? The SECN doesn't release ratings for the first couple of years, but if it did I bet MU/IU got more than a .5. I like BYU as an opponent compared to a lot of what we played recently, but it is far from a big time exposure game and it does very little for recruiting. I would prefer we help our recruiting as we need more help in that area than we do in exposure.

He did an interview where he said he was not considering Mizzou until that game. He was a guest of IU and ended up loving how we played. I looked for the interview, but couldn't find it.

I couldn't agree more. We need to play better OOC games.I wish it were somebody a little better than BYU but considering that any other power5 team is booked up until 2018, this is a great deal for us. I would love for a neutral site game somewhere else (memphis anyone?) inside the SEC footprint but this works for now. Until the crybabies in the little 12 will schedule us, it really limits what we can do for OOC.

Do't overlook what strength of schedule might mean for the playoff. I guarantee someone will be complaining this year their team was left out of the playoffs at number 5 because of a weak schedule.

Just hit me and nobody has mentioned it, but Hosick will now have his chance. I don't like the idea of the gov coming in all pissed off against us. Not to beat a dead horse, but would have loved for that kid to still be in the program.

Apparently beggars can be choosey.

We NEED to fill the schedule with someone. Don't be surprised if we end up with 2 FCS teams on the schedule in a couple of years. Now that is something to bitch about. BYU on the schedule would be great.

Great point! I forgot about him. I love the matchup next year.

I hope everyone against the game realizes BYU is ranked higher than us right now. It won't be an easy game but will get us some credibility early with the win next year.

The ONLY other power 5ish option is Boston College. boring.

Since they're Mormon maybe we can we take two dates to the prom!

As to games with BYU... If it gets us out of our schedule hell, then hell yes. It just doesn't feel like an Alden-Pinkel OOC game since they're actually good.

Now Utah State? That feels like an Alden OOC.

change of conferences caused a schedule dump for the next 10 years. (we are Mizzou, we fail at dealing with the complex)
