Puts them at 13 schools. They gotta get 1 more to get to 14. What has happened to Pac 12?

It isn't what happened to the Pac 12, it is that Colorado is wanted to go back to the Big 12 after Texas leave to the SEC. Texas was the biggest problem that destroyed the Big 12 conference.

It is only about what happened to the PAC. have you seen what happened to their conference revenue? There is no way to compete with where the PAC revenue has gone. It is terrible.

The PAC 12 was always kind of the LA schools and the ten little dwarfs. Even when Oregon or Washington were hot.

But for Texas conning the Big 8 into letting that conference become the second coming of the SWC we would probably be looking at a Big 12+ with the traditional powers plus Texas A&M/Texas and some of the escapees from the PAC 12. Which would put them in about the same league as the SEC or Big 10.

I think they could add Arizona next and possibly 2 other PAC schools like ASU and Utah

Members of the ACC want to expand and get SMU and get West Virginia to leave the Big 12, but it sounds like they need the ok from ESPN.

quote:

ACC commissioner Jim Phillips has been against the idea of ACC expansion in the past, but it appears that he’s changed his tune. In an interview with ESPN’s David Hale, Phillips was not against the idea of adding to the conference.

quote:

“The ACC has been and remains highly engaged in looking at anything that makes us a better and stronger conference,” Phillips told ESPN. “We’ve spent considerable time on expansion to see if there is anything that fits. We have a tremendous group of institutions but if there was something that made us better, we would absolutely be open to it.”

quote:

It would be very difficult for the ACC to do much of anything right now, in terms of adding or subtracting, as the current grant-of-rights agreement is very iron-clad — and expensive.

quote:

The current ESPN TV deals runs through the 2036 season, and ESPN has a very tight hold on revenue even in the event of an exit. It would take a costly legal battle to get out of the ACC at this point.
