His tone in the presser didn’t inspire much confidence either.

Honesty is great, but damn bro…

I'm old enough to remember when Dan Devine used to do this every week, telling us what a juggernaut Iowa State was, or how Kansas State who hadn't won a game in years was just one hell of a team, and one we would be lucky to beat.

Yup. An old strategy to motivate the team.

I think it’s both. He’s being an honest and trying to light a fire under his team’s arse.

It’s just odd there has been such a defeatist tone from the Mizzou camp all week. Kentucky is solid enough, but damn…it’s not like they are a top 5 team or anything.

Not ready? Get fricking ready.

I have no idea what you are talking about? I really don’t. You keep saying that but my Twitter account has an egg and 3 followers.

Montana coach said the same thing at his press conference last week. No one knew that because no one shows up to the Montana press conference.

I think you might be surprised. I have a feeling the Tigers could come in and just knock some Wildcat dick into the dirt.

Though, I am taking the route of Drink.

Cooper wasn’t comfortable running down field against CMU last week

Hopefully this helps the offense

Edit: assuming he can actually play full speed

None of us clowns on here are half the coach Drink is. He knows the team, motivation and what they are facing better then all of us. Until he shits the bed I trust him.

Saban does this all the time. Did you catch his presser this week? Trotted out the Rat Poisen again, slammed his team for only playing half a game.

Stay cool folks.

Yea, there is a reason Drink does what he does. Trust in the wizard.

What exactly did you expect him to say?

"Kentucky, yeah, all we need to do is show up, throw our jocks on the field and we'll win by 40"?

You have to do better at figuring out how read coaches speak about opponents and games and our performance.

I don't know about that Saban analogy.. I got a totally different vibe. I watched that entire thing and felt like he knows that this team is just not that good based on what he sees at practice and from the first game.

We should be at least a little worried.

Truth be told, I'm not all that confident.

Kentucky did look really good last week... but if national titles could be won in the first week Arkansas would have another dozen or so to our credit.

I do think this is a dangerous Kentucky team but I think this is probably a fairly salty Mizzou team as well. The difference may be that this is most certainly Stoops' team created in his image. Drink is still building the team he wants to go with.

I'm hesitant to pick a winner in a second week game. I'd call it a toss up. Drink knows what he is doing.
