OK Lefty, now you've lost me. It was fun while it lasted.

At this point, I am confident that our new OC and Drink will make the correct call between Cook and Horn.

Brady has that desired game time experience and maybe working with an OC directly will translate to explosive plays on the field.

Horn is big.

Check this out at SDS. I am quoting part of this article from SDS.
"Hart’s final tier was “can scare the best team’s on their schedule,” and included Arkansas, Kentucky, Duke, Illinois, Oklahoma State and Missouri.

Arkansas, Kentucky and Missouri were all mid-tier teams in the SEC last year, but if Hart’s prediction is right, they could all be trending upward."

Horn is gone if he is not the starter.

If he can't beat out Brady then he needs to go to a lesser school if he wants to start.......I don't mean that negatively towards Horn.....if he goes I hope he's happy and healthy.

I mean, he’s still a freshman. Cook also is buddy buddy with drink.

Horn will be the starter by week 4. Talent gap is too wide, he’ll put it together after some live game action. And he will be considered one of the top QBs in the conference going into 2024

Good news. It is Horn’s to go get.

This is practically a no lose proposition for Drink. He likely believes that we will win the first couple of games comfortably so he can afford to showcase the talents of each QB to the fans.

Here is my concern (and I hope I’m wrong), maybe Horn’s just not the guy we thought we were getting. Maybe he really isn’t as good as Cook. Maybe Drink knows this. Even knowing this if he plays Cook all year as the better QB, and we have a so-so season, he’ll be pilloried for not giving Horn a chance.

If the fans see Cook significantly outperform Horn in games 1 &2, the second guessing may subside a bit.

Again, I hope I’m wrong and Horn goes out and KILLS it and we discover we have an SEC caliber QB!!!

Horn hasn't had enough game time to make that call yet.

I hope Horn wins this battle, he seems to have more upside than Cook.

It shouldn't matter that Cook is tight with Drink. If my job was on the line I would make sure I had my best option on the field.

I think splitting the games is smart. If Cook is better, great.

The only thing that’s going to help Drink is winning games. If Cook looks like the best option and we end up 5-7, that’s not going to help Drink.

The same thing could be said about if Horn looks to be the best option and the team end up 5-7, that's not going to help Drinkwitz either.

And from what I've read and posted here is work ethic is too wide also; Brady has it, Horn doesn't. Now that could be old news BUT with all of that talent why isn't Horn the clear-cut starter?

None of us really know shite as we are not at practice everyday, workouts or meetings. It is clear through watching last year that Cook plays hard but struggled on making good reads. Horn is bigger and has a strong arm. I am sure Drink will play who he thinks will best give the team a chance to win. If he cannot identify who that is he is gone. I am just waiting to see how they look this year on the field.

Drinkwitz might have a hard time due to different strength and weaknesses among them and will rather let those two quarterbacks take snaps in the first two games to decide the starter for the 3rd game and beyond. Doesn't mean he can make changes when it is needed in future games when the game is on the line for the win.
Remember there wasn't anyone ready to step in last year. Now we shall have no problem to bring in one of them if the other struggle in the future games.
