5* combo guard Antonio Blakeney is visiting with Bryant on October 10th.

In bad news, Juwan Morgan has named his final OV to Stanford. He could still come to Mizzou, but since he's not taking an OV here, it seems as if he's eliminated us.

Missouri kids don't seem to have much pride in their state, they all have wandering eyes. I hope CKA tears it up and they end up regretting their decisions to spurn Mizzou.

Great news.

Not such great news. Shame too because frankly, there's enough instate talent to build a solid core around in the next several classes. Oh well. As long as we fill the spots with equally capable kids.

Brian at PM got ahold of Morgan who said he's still going to visit Mizzou and we're very much in the mix. He said that since Mizzou is so close he can visit for cheap, but to visit Stanford on his own dime would be too expensive, hence the OV there so the school can pay for it.

Makes sense. I'd use my OV's and put it on the school's dime for all the longer trips.

Morgan also recently had an unofficial to Mizzou with his HS coach that was described as great.

Well, ok. Insiders on PM said the staff wanted a 4 year Rosburg type player and someone from instate, this kills two birds with one stone. Hopefully we can land Bryant and one of Blakeney and the 2 "mystery" 5* we're apparently bringing in.

I have to believe that means we're out on Morgan. Out on Kaiser Gates. Hope we get Bryant. Not holding my breath on Blakeney. Not sure who the 2 other 5*'s are. Bacon? Newman? Have to believe its a guard of some kind if your other 2 spots are being filled with a F and C.

Looks like 247 now has Puryear as a 3*. What's anyone know on this kid? I will choose to trust KA and staff at this point, but on its face, it just seems strange to be talking 5*, 5*, 4*, 5*....3*. I know nothing about his game. Anyone familiar?

Highlights

PM and Bossi know who the 5* are, but they're not saying as their source asked them not to make it public yet. Rumors are Zimmerman, as Arizona either got a commitment from another center or are recruiting one hard, so he's backing off them. Caleb Swanigan is another rumor, or less likely Malik Newman or Maker reclassifying.

Lots of bigs if you include Bryant and Puryear in the mix. I like bigs but am still wondering who the outside threats are. Even Teki seems to be a player whose strength is getting to the rim.

Isaiah Briscoe and Caleb Swanigan are the two mystery 5* per PM this morning, Briscoe is a PG, Swanigan is a C. I wish we'd have saved Puryear's scholarship to use on another high ranked player, but I get CKA thought he needed an instate kid this year. Rumor on PM is the staff liked OG Anunoby a lot, but he is more of a 3 and we're pretty full there, hence the no offer. He is Indiana bound from what I've read. Funny thing is, Puryear told PM he plans on playing the 3 at Mizzou too, but if you watch his highlights, he's definitely a 4, just happens to be the size of a 3. Hopefully he's a good glue guy, I've just never been high on him since Haith first took a look, hopefully I'm wrong.

Saw that too about playing the 3. Just don't see that either. Seems like a good kid. Just having a hard time foreseeing what roles a lot of these kids will fill. Some of these guys can slide around, but I'd guess they're best suited at:

1 - Shamburger/Clark/Isabel
2 - Bello/Wright
3 - Biedscheid/Teki
4 - JW3/Gant/Allen
5 - Post/Rosburg

Then the next season:

1 - Clark/Isabel
2 - Bello/Wright
3 - Biedscheid/Teki
4 - JW3/Gant/Allen/Puryear
5 - Rosburg

I can see the definite need to get a big guy. Can also need for a point/combo guard like Briscoe.

Updated Rivals 150 out today has a new 4* from KC. Landry Shamet is the #87 player as a SG. Hopefully our coaches check him out, his other schools are Colorado, K state, Wichita, and Illinois.

Puryear is still an unrated 3* unfortunately. Oh well.
