It’s hard to imagine. Close proximity doesn’t really create a rivalry. Usually something has to happen to make that so....Kansas/ Missouri dates back to the war. Cardinals/Cubs started with a trade of star pitcher Ernie Broglio to the Cubs for a young outfielder named Lou Brock. (Broglio got hurt and hardly pitched again....Lou went on to become a HOFer for the Cardinals.
What’s Arkansas done that we should be upset about, or vice versa? I kinda like the state myself.

Tennessee is a bigger rival imo.

Still, we play Arkansas every year. I think it's because we are both either average or bad. The 2014 game had high stakes and it seemed pretty heated. Since then, the best record by either team entering the game was 7-4. Just doesn't have the relevance yet. 2014 was a good start but it's been a dud ever since

Mizzou and Arkansas weren't the best of friends to begin with but I feel this rivalry could use a spark. Both teams being down doesn't provide that spark

I think it has the makings a good rivalry. The proximity of The campuses makes for a natural, but its gonna take time to develop.

Let's face it, Arkansas hates Texas, LSU, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M

We hate Kansas, Nebraska, Tennessee, and OU/UT. The Mizzou-Arkansas rivalry is simply a back burner. That won't change anytime soon

Rivalry, yes. Top 4 among either fan base? No.

I think arky really wants to shut up Eric Beisel. If you have nothing to play for and its your last game, things get amped. Not saying they will win but they will play hard.

It takes time.

Probably more heated in Hoops now, but football will get there eventually

Yes, Tennessee seems more heated to me than Arky.

I won’t even drive though Kansas, much less think of spending money there.

No. We have one real rival, but a narcissist with a pelt atop his noggin has a grudge he won’t relinquish from his fetid butt cheeks.

Maybe if I wasn't on the forums I could see Arkansas as a rival at some point. But here I feel no rival can be made out of a fellow expansion team

When you're not fighting over the same bone (a division) it makes it hard to hate.

I the State of MO were to cede the bootheel to AR, it would increase the average IQ of both states about 15 points.

If Mizzou puts up a 4-5 year win streak then it will become a rivalry. Arkansas won't want to be perceived as behind Mizzou in the SEC pecking order.

We need a huge controversy in football. Being a recruiting coup. Winning a game on 5th down, something weird needs to happen that will leave both schools and fan bases with a bad taste in their mouths. That will fuel a rivalry.

This game isn't anything more than the last one on the schedule.

I enjoyed the annual fisting of aTm more because their fans loved to pretend it didn't matter.

Problem is they are never playing for anything relevant. And even if we won on a 5th down play, Arkansas fan will just blame their own. 4 years ago, they got Missouri's #2 recruit and Mizzou fan could care less. I can't see both teams playing for a SEC championship spot 2-3 years in a row.

The reason the boot heel of Missouri exists is because the owner of the land was wise beyond his years and wanted nothing to do with ar-kansas. He fought to keep his land from becoming part of that inbred state.
