5 reasons Mizzou belongs in the SEC

Whether Mizzou belongs in the SEC is of course open for debate. I will say this, as a state we don't support Mizzou like other SEC states do. The fans are not rabid for the team, regardless of record or state of the program, like other SEC states. All the accomplishments listed in that article was under the Pinkel era, it remains to be seen whether Mizzou can get back to that level or even sustain it. These things concern me.

With being smack dab in the middle of the country we will never fit into a conference as well as we did the Big 8. We will have, at least slight, cultural differences.

And we have a ton of pro teams to root for with one of them always being good. As a state we don't have to be loyal to Mizzou. We only have so much money to spend to "support" teams, lots would rather go watch the winner. And by God if they are competitive we do go watch the winner. Is it unfortunate that we have so many options? Idk, surely we would support Mizzou with undying loyalty if they were the only ones around, but they aren't. It doesn't help that universities across America have reached such a high level of being absolutely ridiculous either

I totally agree with the situation about our sports teams and make no excuses for it. Some of the Sec states that don't have pro sports would die to have some regardless what they say on here. Nonetheless it's still a legit point that we don't support Mizzou. like other Sec states support their college. teams. Personally, I doubt we will ever fit into the Sec, partly due to culture (minus the southern part of Missouri) and just pure southern stubbornness because of us being a midwest state. Some have zero acceptance for us, and ya know, I really don't give a shite at this point in time. I'm good where we are at and they need to learn to live with it.
