Hey ya'll...since I know most of us posters/lurkers on the rant are pretty hardcore fans, what are thoughts on the class today and about Drink making the push for the fans to show up? My $.02...obviously an amazing class, something I actually didn't know we could actually attain which tells me the sky is the limit...but then we have fan support, and I can be a naysayer here, but what do we have to do to get that back? I love the billboards and see them all over the state, but what can be done to augment and enhance the gameday experience and what can we do to get this in front of people that can actually drive change? I care, I know all of you do as well...but how do we reach the broader population (particularly STL with no NFL) and create something in COMO that people want to be a part of? As a group, let's put some legit thoughts out and influence change! I love taking my son to games, my daughter will be a tiger next year...some of us are invested, how do we broaden that?

Okay, I'll go first...I would like to see gameday packages offered and advertised in the two large metros in local TV media...I would like to a massive ticket donation program for unused tickets for to local HS programs in the state (maybe this happens now, idk, but draw the line and go), would like to see a massive blitz on social media...I know the product needs to be there, but you also have to hype it and I really don't see more than billboards, but maybe I'm just not looking. Anyway, I feel like we need to get behind our coach and we are kind of a community here...what can we offer to better supprt?

Drink was a little unlucky. Our defense didn’t show up until our home games were pretty much over.

The South Carolina game was the only home game the defense had a pulse.

We’d watched our defense demolished by Kentucky, Tennessee, A&M, BC and evening North Texas by that point.

Really was a downer on the home game slate.

He will really be helped by coming out of the gate strong next year. Building momentum with the fans rather than getting through the season and saying “oh, that wasn’t bad.”

Opening our season AT Middle Tennessee State next year certainly doesn’t help

Definitely showed a pulse vs Florida but you were right too late. Hell I walked out before half vs Tenner which I have never done in the past. If a good product is on the field the stands will be like once Pinkel got rolling.

Honestly, imo, the best way to get the more casual fan, is we need to upgrade the whole gameday experience. Tailgating has never been a huge deal. You walk around these other SEC programs, even the bad ones, the tailgating is top notch. Most people go for the whole experience. With our tailgating not being good and the team struggling, its hard for the average fan to want to spend money to travel to COMO and watch the game.

That could work. Horn at QB, throws two to passes to Burden. The Defense holds them to 100 yards of offense and 2-3 sacks.

It's a perfect game to show the fans that the team is not the same as last year. Now if he starts CB and we're throwing 5 yard passes, then the fans will yawn and stay home. 2022 is about winning and marketing. He's got to get some of the hometown talent on the field.

Its pretty simple, they(mizzou) need it to be worth our time to drive 2 hours.

Gameday experience + winning.

- lower tailgating parking passes
- more football alumni exchanging with tailgaters
- Do away with the popup tents on the north end zone, looks like a high school game.

11 Am games are the biggest downer for gameday experiences. Winning eliminates those 11 am starts.

I've always said, its a shame that our Amtrak goes thru Jeff city and not Columbia. Gameday would be so much better, wouldn't have to worry about driving. Plus if you're a parent, Id prefer my kid take the train versus having a car or driving on that hell trap highway.

How did Pittman get fans back in the stands here at Arkansas? He started winning football games. Winning cures a lot of ills. Start winning 8-10 games a season and I doubt you'll have to worry about attendance.

Plus, in a few years, you are likely to get Texas back on the schedule. Not only a winnable game but one the fans will turn out to in droves so they can cuss out the Horns.

Funny thing is I think its a couple of things in no particular order: A)team performance, B) tailgating experience, and C) in- game experience.

A)Team Performance- I think the '22 recruiting cycle has helped this a lot. I know personally I have had a lot of casual fans reach out to me having interest in checking out this batch of recruits and just overall pulse on the program. Props to Drink and Co. to put that together, work isnt done yet and a good season (or more) would really elevate this program. Pair that with some improved marketing and it could really take off. I think people talking around the state like this is a great first step excited to see more.

B) Tailgating Experience- Farout has a lot going for it (close to campus and not far from downtown, facility upgrades, light the dome, tiger walk etc) which is a good start.... but there are things that can obviously be improved upon. Maybe with NIL working on putting together some sort of sponsored tailgate downtown, or in close proximity. I think being able to see other SEC stadiums and build on that is a good idea. We have the bones to have something special here just gotta put it all together.

C) In Game Atmosphere- I touched on this a little in B, upgrades are really nice bringing in elevating Farout to the next level. I think overall I like the new seating map/plan the AD had released so thats another plus. That being said I think the speakers i the stadium are disappointing not sure why it only comes from the one side (north endzone), also the music seems dated and we reuse the same songs multiple times per game, and on TV they seem to show the most barren sections (might be fixed with new seating plan). So of the 3 points i think this one has the most work to do.

Overall I think we have a good foundation, and aren't light-years away but as many have said on this board we need to start acting like the SEC program that we are and continue elevating. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

This is Genius. Put it in the field across from Brooks hall (where Dobbs used to be)

Give corporate STL/KC a networking area in a prime spot near the stadium. That is a prime tailgating spot that for whatever reason has always been taped off by the Uni. Luckily we know they love money so this could give them the push they need.

We need to look at a 5 to 10 year plan. We need to build a younger and more loyal fan base. Bandwagon fans don’t usually go to bowl games, away games, or watch a losing team.

Winning, tailgating, better game experience will bring in more bandwagon fans, but the first sign of losing and those fans will stay at home and we will be having this same conversation.

Winning is a short term fix. We need more fans

1) Work with schools
Free tickets to all sports
Have players and coaches go to camps
2) Work with churches. This is something that OU has done. My son has 300 to 400 in his Wednesday class they are always looking for kids to do on the weekends
3) People think we should spend a lot of money in KC and STL, but we should also spend money in smaller cities. Webb City had over 1,500 people and Lamar around 1,000 in Columbia 2 weeks ago. OU has events in small towns all over Oklahoma, in Kansas up to Wichita, in Texas, and in Arkansas.

That sounds great, but it would be better if it was at home. What SEC program opens up their season @Middle Tennessee St? Should've never been scheduled

This, other big schools is either free, or severely discounted, aka like $10-$40 a game.

Free tickets to anyone 15 and under. Once the game starts you lose those "cheeks in the seats" forever so it doesn't actually hurt your bottom line (no pun intended).

Why under 15? Because they need a ride to the game. When you give away one ticket you often end up getting parents to buy 2 or more for themselves and siblings.

We do this because home attendance is so poor that it doesn’t justify the cost buying a home Mid major win.

Better attendance and these games go away.
