Brian Odom was the lead recruiter on Gray. The article also states that he was the Class 3A 100 meter state champion.

Seems like a solid get. Nice job by the staff finding him. I'd like to see the staff get the Maty Mauk syndrome out of him. Running backwards 10 yards to run for 100 won't work in the SEC. Like his speed and the fact he's not under 6'.

Danny Gray is going to blow up, I expect him to make 4 stars on Rivals when all is said and done. He is only .1 away at 5.7 and still has his Senior year to play.

Would he honor his verbal to Mizzou if he blows up, because Mizzou was his best offer with Kansas being his next best?

He won't be getting enough jet sweeps for this to matter.

I mentioned Cameron Wilkins about a month ago and it sounds like he he will be visiting soon per Rivals. Cross is the lead recruiter on him. The article below makes it sound like he is pretty high on aTm, who hasn't offered him yet.

Well, if I read article correctly he has one other offer and it is now between us and T&AM who has not offered so I would think we have at least a 50/50 chance of getting promise ring verbal. Given current shortage of verbals I guess I will welcome what we(BO) can get.

I re-read the article and it says MU was his second offer so I guess he may have more than one other "offer" but not excited enough to check or see if any other upper level P5 competition. But given the passionate impression he has of MU(and I assume other recruits are given same sales pitch & have same "impression") I am pretty confident our recruiting woes are over:
quote:

“I haven’t been up to see the campus, but I’ve heard good things about it,” he said. “I’ve heard they have a high intellectual standard for the players that come up there and I just have been hearing that they have a good program and the coaches work well with the players.

We have all 9 crystal balls for Micheal Thompson now. Several of them within the last few days. Would be a massive add to hopefully jump start this class

I agree. You get him recruiting with Foster and it could be special.

Thompson is special. If we got him, others would follow. Perkins just feels like he's coming because of family. Then some of those bama kids Foster has been recruiting will really move up the class rank. Then we have to win 6.

I know its just one game but im on more the "need to win 7" bandwagon. It has to be an above .500 season.

I agree with that. I think we will win 7. Anything less to me will be disappointing. I really think our schedule sets up for 8-9 wins. I think Auburn, Georgia, and Florida will be tough. The rest are very winnable!

Less than 7 wins would be disappointing.

We need some positive momentum in recruiting. I know that more is going to hinge on season performance, but we don't have the luxury of waiting for all our commits to come in the fall.

Thompson dropped his top 5. No surprises.

Hey JQ- can you change the thread to reflect the latest recruit Gray? Just a friendly reminder.
