Seems like a good enough kid and seems to have the physical stature to get on the field sooner rather than later.
Yeah, this is exciting. Hope he can get qualified.
I'd like to see him against my Tigers on October 1st. He's going to be a damn good one.

Get him the best tutors Missouri has to keep him in school.

Judging by his grades his freshman & sophomore years(around 1.5), he must have gotten his grades up considerably over his last 3 semesters to qualify. Now its just a matter of his ACT score. He has an 18 but needs a 19 when he takes it on Saturday. I believe there are a couple more chances to take if he doesn't. Beckner didnt qualify until the June test last year.
Sounds like he is somewhat intelligent but just didn't apply himself early on. Will be a great player when all is said and done.

Ballard has qualified. He just has to get his ACT score up 1 point, or he has to redshirt him.

So with all the raves about his ability,
FB analyst Danny Heitert on @MizzouFootball recruit Harry Ballard, "This guy is the real deal. It wasn't even close. Best player in town."
why is he a low 3 star?

Because no one thought he would qualify.

Exactly, initial rankings had him as the #2 in state, but when rivals learned he wouldn't probably qualify they lowered him to a 5.7 3*.

Right, he was such an extreme long shot to qualify nobody bothered with him. Schools or ranking services.
Mizzou continued to monitor him and once he qualified they jumped on him. Great athlete.

He could be ranked a low 3*, because the talent was way down in Missouri in 2015.

Looks like those Bama, Auburn recruits that look 30 but are really 18.

“All the big schools knew I had a grade problem and then backed off,” he said. “So I sat back and watched to see who still recruited me knowing it would all pay off in the end. When my senior year came around, everybody started coming back slowly, like Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, all the big schools. I looked at them like, you didn’t believe in me, so why should I believe in you? Mizzou was recruiting me through thick and thin, so I made my commitment to Missouri.”

I've noticed that too. When you look at Mizzou players they look like young boys in the face and they are normally skinny. When you look at players from the blue-bloods in the SEC they look like seasoned veterans in the NFL and thickly built. Mizzou looked liked kids playing grown men when they played Bama.

What are the chances Ballard becomes a 4 star if he had signed with Alabama or FSU I wonder.
Glad to see Mizzou taking St. Louis and the metro east Illinois area seriously. Lot of talent in the area.

Ballard has the required 19 on the ACT but he needs to do well with his remaining core classes.

Harry Ballard says he has a 19 on the ACT. He just has to finish strong with his six core classes in order to get eligible.
If he is working hard, I can't imagine any teacher will deny his chance to go to college. I'm not saying they give it to him but if he shows effort, he will have no problem.

He said that lately that he's been making only A's and B's so I not worried. On a sports show they said that it has been said that he travels everyday from North County to Kirkwood to study with the wife of Alvin Miller(great high school football player back in the day who was rated #1 player in the country)whose the assistant principal at Kirkwood High.

Is it time to unsticky this thread? It can still be bumped but I think it's time to let it loose.
