Not a 2015 recruit, but Al Young out of Cape Central(Mo) may be someone that has potential for the 2016 class. 6' 190lbs. Kid is a stud. 15 TDs this season, after shattering all receiving records last year as a sophomore. He is only going to get better.

Sounds like Alex Ofodile is visiting Ole Miss this weekend. Maybe his commitment to Oregon is wavering.

Hmmmm. Yeah, I thought when he committed he said no visits.

That surprises me. He signed his financial aid paperwork for early enrollment at oregon at the beginning of last month. I went to his twitter page and there's no mention of an Ole Miss visit. There was a mention that he feels he's the most hated player in Missouri. Funny, he turned into Kansas for me and I hadn't thought about him in months. I think he relishes in the role of thinking he is a bad boy.

If he is going to visit Ole Miss then he is a total flake. What do you wanna bet he switches programs after not getting the playing time?

I totally agree man, he and his dad are both anti-Mizzou, it's the Elliot's all over again big timing the school they played for. His dad posts at PM so you can't say anything criticizing AJ or Alex without 20 old people jumping in to defend them. The facts are that there's been over 10 D1 players to come out of Rock Bridge in Pinkels tenure, and yet the only one AJ has sent to Mizzou was the one with no other offers. Yet these people still defend him, saying he's a True Son and he's not steering these kids away from us when it's obvious if he's not actively steering them away, he's definitely not doing us any favors.

If you have a former player at a school in the same place as your University, wouldn't you expect to land at least a few of the prospects from there? Hopefully Alex takes his dad with him to where ever he ends up so we can get someone more pro-Mizzou into Rock Bridge.

I wouldn't be surprised if that did happen. great way to pay a player indirectly. Hire the coach at a nearby local high school or make him TE coach with a fat salary.

Of course Maty's was a coach in Ohio and is now in Springfield MO. So maybe we should tread lighlty on this topic.

Word is we're definitely looking for 1 JUCO DE, 2 if we can find them, and 1 JUCO OT. Austin Roberts is a new name to watch, 3* DE 6'6 270 from OK with offers from MSU, LSU, and Bama.

The OT thing is a bit surprising, as I've been hoping Rhodes would lock that spot down, but per his dad Clay is hurt and will have surgery this offseason. He could play if necessary, but it's an injury that needs to be surgically repaired. So another OT makes sense and offers depth.

I really expect (hope) we look for a 4* JUCO WR also, as we'll be young next year at that position. Teams like UT have had a lot of success (as in yards/catches/TD's) by bringing in JUCO WR's, and we have a lot of playing time to offer.

What is dad's problem with Mizzou? Anyone know?

We desperately need JUCO DE's and WR's. Harris will be the mainstay next year and as much as I love the kid and like what he's done so far, next year he's just a sophomore, one year removed from having an Ealy/Ray type of season. You're right about being young at WR too. I would anticipate that our best WR's next year will all be Freshmen and Sophomores, unless Leftwich builds off of that one catch.

If Rhodes needs surgery, go do it if you ask me. Is Rhodes at 50% or whatever he's at a better option than others at 100%? I'd rather have him ready to go in the spring and going into next year.

At least. I get the whole "get out of town" mentality, but somewhere in there there would be a few.

I'm sorry but I don't understand the concern about the WR's being young or Charles Harris for that matter. I've noticed several SEC teams play young talent. If the young guys are excelling in the system, play them. JUCO experience really has little meaning as most only really play 1 year.

The DE recruits from last year, seem athletic and have the frames to play in the 245-250 range. Let coach Kool do his job, which he does well, and why should we expect the results to be any different, a DL that will be our strongest unit, regardless of age.

My concern is...what are Harris' numbers so far this year compared to Ray last year? What are Brown's numbers this year compared to Sasser last year?

If the others can step in in year 1 and put up Washington or Lucas numbers, I'll be pumped. Or if the freshman Dline can put up Sam like number, I'll be ecstatic.

Is anyone concerned that no one is coming from our new SEC point of emphasis (GA & FLA) or our old (Texas)?

One thing I wondered / feared was if we would have a donut hole of talent as the shift moved out of Texas.

I had noticed that too. I couldn't even tell you if we're even the leader on any kids from Florida or Georgia at this point.

2/3* Sam Awolope, OT from Texas currently committed to Rice has said Mizzou is coming after him hard right now. So that's something I guess. You've got to think we can do better than this though, it would give us 4 2* OL in the last 2 classes. The SEC ain't the MAC guys, having the horses up front is a big deal.

Some of Mizzou's best OL under Pinkel weren't 4*+ recruits.

They weren't 2* guys either, minus Britt of course.

I'm sure there will be some late season flips to Mizzou and a few NSD surprises, but is it me or does recruiting seem off this year? Even our targets seem ho hum. It's like instead of the occasional "Diamond in the rough" the goal is to find a class of "Diamonds in the rough."

I know Mizzou probably developes better than anyone else, so I should shut up, but I was expecting more excitement after last year.

Generally speaking, "flips" are dependant on how well the season pans out.

With our 12-2 record ws did well.

When we went 5-7, we lost 4 star OL Jake Campos to Iowa State, and couldn't get local kid Corey Winfield to flip on NSD.

I agree. It does seem off. I had such high hopes for Ofodile and Hentges.

I just don't think we had a lot of spots so it's been slow. Obviously they are holding a spot for Beckner. Let's just hope he pans out.
We will have a very high quality class if he does sign. If by chance we get Raequan Williams, Marquise Doherty, and/or Anree saint armour, it will be their best ever, IMO.

Gabe said he doubts we get Saint Armour now. The Mizzou grad coach we had at North Gwinnett left for another job and all momentum was lost after that and the Imatorbhebhe decommitment.

The others you mentioned we are probably the favorites for now and would be great gets.
