4* Takkarist McKinley to UCLA today. Was supposed to visit Mizzou October 10th. Unfortunately it seems like our big recruiting weekend is fizzling out. DE is a big concern for next year along with WR. I really think we have to have a JUCO WR and DE in this class.

Maybe our Arky posters could chime in but yeah, I think they are pretty hot and heavy after him. That highlight reel says 2013-2014 sophomore highlights so I think he's a junior this year. With the backlog of QB's, might be difficult, though Arky also has a backlog of quality QB's as well.

That got by me. Yeh gotta be a jr. this year. I don't know if a ton of Arky posters know about him. They may. He was kind of leaning towards Arky, don't know who has offered. Just know Mizzou has not as of yet.

We can never have too many QB's. This kid appears to be able to do it all. If you noticed the highlight reel against this years Blue Springs. There are two defensive line players who are I believe going to K-State and they are quality lineman. They dismantled Blue Springs South's offense this year. To see what Skylar did to them in that highlight reel of the week before, to me it shows he can handle himself at the next level. Blue Springs, is a deep solid team with some good standouts.

I just hope Mizzou will offer. Hate to see good instate talent not offered.

Yeah, he certainly seems to be the kind of talent that you can extend an early offer.

He seems like a Mauk, but with out the gunslinger mentality. He seems to make good decisions and see's the field well.

Don't know this guy, but he gave his review of watching game film on Strong and Beckner following one of their games.

Regarding his talk about Beckner being misused and dog tired...I don't know if it was this game or every game, but Beckner has been playing both ways, on the offensive line as well. Not sure if this is what he was referring to as well.

One of the biggest changes I've seen in the way Pinkel runs his team from the past is, since joining the SEC, he rotates his lineman a lot. So, if Beckner were to come to Mizzou, I don't know if he'll be forced to play as manu downs as he does in high school. That would benefit him if that's the case about being tired. If it's lack of effort or taking plays off, I would think this would be identified by the coaching staff. He sounds a lot like Richardson. It would be great to get another quality lineman like him again.

I'm not familiar with this guy. But if he takes the visit, meh. Can't blame the kid for exploring his options.

Not having to play offense and defense will benefit him too.

I don't know how many like watching high school football games, but KC has a great site for watching webcasts. Even have archived games. Was watching some of Lock v. Thompson earlier.

I just tried it and for some reason didn't work. Your link is fine, it's something on their site.

So? What's your thought on the matchup? I didn't get to see it. Both, from what I understand, are very good QB's. I'm glad we got Lock, but adding Thompson would be great.

I watched about the first half of it and then began watching this weeks games. In what I saw, it was tough conditions with the wind but both Lock and Thompson made some pretty damn nice passes. Lock had nothing but poise in the pocket. Thompson had a couple that he hit his receiver right in stride. I'd like to have both from what I saw.

I haven't heard of anything. I was just gonna post myself to see if anyone is hearing anything. All seems relatively quiet. What weekend is Beckner's official? I can't even remember that.

Howard picked up an offer this weekend too. He was quoted saying that Mizzou is his number 2 right now (since he's committed to Wisconsin) but that a lot could change between now and February. It sounds like we will probably flip him, which is good as we need some DL in this class.

Beckner won't be visiting again until after his season is over from what I've read, and he hasn't set up any visits with anyone so far.

I haven't heard of any new visitors for this weekend yet, but PM usually puts that info out Friday sometime, but the big recruiting weekend still appears to be October 10th. I agree that it's too quite on the recruiting front right now, but hopefully we can get some more visits from top shelf guys if we keep winning.

Was Beckner scheduled at one time for a game weekend visit or my memory going? I'd love to get him down there for a game to see the place in all of it's craziness. October 10 weekend seems to be big for basketball too.

He hasn't scheduled any visits from what his coach has said. I think he truly hates the recruiting process and is putting it off as long as possible. I think that bodes well for Mizzou as we're the only school he seems to talk to, but December and January will be where the battle for Beckner will take place.

247 on Beckner. Seems Auburn has stepped it up with Beckner. The other names are not new. At this point, would be great if maybe we get him down on an unofficial again this fall/early winter and then have him among the target recruits that we bring in right before national signing day for the VIP treatment.
