2015 Football Recruiting Thread *Offer/Commit List and Videos on 1st Page*
Are there any more instate recruits you'd like to see Mizzou land? (Directed to anyone) After we lost Hentges and Ofodile, Perkins and Doherty were the only 2 that peaked my interest. Anyone else out there instate?

There's really not much in state this year.

Marquise Doherty as a DB is the best available but I don't know if he or Mizzou have much mutual interest. LINK
I don't know if 6'6" 305 lb Parkway West OT Drew Swihart might be of interst. We haven't offered. Seems like he's huge though. LINK
And nothing else unless we could flip the Davis twins from Nebraska(Highly doubtful, they're from Blue Springs) or Ofodile or Hentges but I don't see those happening either.

BTW AJ Harris is a Rivals 4 star..

Yeah, I've pretty much gone to using 247's composite scoring. I see some guys on the recruiting board cherry picking rivals, scout or 247 depending on who has the hire rating and think that's horseshite. Got no problem if they use rivals, just as long as they're consistent. AJ had been a 4* on the 247 composite not long ago by the way. So he's right on the cusp there too.

Considering the fact that we offer plenty of 4-5 stars that we just don't get I have to conclude some of what comes out of COMO is simply coach speak for, "we just ain't that good at recruiting the stars kids".

No, we just still can't compete with the blue bloods in the bigger picture. I would like to think we can compete with them for the instate kids though, which is what makes Hentges and Ofodile sting. Bottom line is we're not gonna get many 4 or 5 stars out of Florida or Georgia, which gets right back to offering the Tennessee WR who is closer to home than a Florida or Georgia kid.

Do you think they circle around and offer the Markway kid out of Vianney? Or do you think we have Imatorbhebhe at TE and we're done? Thought maybe it was coming after Hentges picked Bama.

My guess is Markway has not been chased by Mizzou and is more than happy with USC and insulted by us. Kind of a Nate Brown-like story when he was finally offered late by UGA, he was Mizzou all the way.
I'm guessing Mizzou had a spot for Hentges and Imatorbhebhe(+ his brother for next year). Some thought Hentges could play DE so they could move things around if needed.
Doesn't matter now unless Bama has a 4-8 season, which won't happen.

Another question might be "Who's left that we might want in Illinois?"

Beckner, obviously. Maybe Gabe Megginson, the Illinois OT commit from just across the Mississippi River from Missouri. He was recruited by AJ Ricker. OUR AJ Ricker. LINK

or 6'4" DT Wesley Annan LINK-no Mizzou offer but some great offers out there.

Then there's 6-2 WR Spencer Tears LINK.

And finally 6'4" 280 DT Raequan Williams from Chicago who 247 says is warm for us but seems hot for Iowa. LINK
Why anyone but the 2016 presidential hopefuls is hot for Iowa is beyond me.

Why? Has any of those sites shown to be more accurate with their 4+ star ratings? From what I have seen, it seems they are all comparable. As long as one site has the kid as a 4*+, he has a good chance to be good.

I'd probably agree with you at this point because there is still no offer. I know that back at the time that Hentges committed to Bama, someone must have tweeted something to Markway about Mizzou and he seemed excited and said something about of course I'd have to consider playing for my hometown team. Now though, yeah, probably won't happen and don't know that either side is interested in it happening.

No reason in particular. Just for consistency sake. I still look at all of them, but whenever I post, I simply use 247 for consistency sake unless a player doesn't have a profile on their but only on rivals. I wouldn't say that literally picked it out of a hat because I thought their composite scoring that takes into consideration all the rankings seemed logical.

Really isn't a big deal, was just explaining why I didn't have Harris down as a 4*.

yea I generally applaud attempts to be consistent, just pointing out for those who didn't know, kinds figured you are up on Rivals as well. Considering the number of Mizzou fans who like to pan the recruiting services for not respecting Mizzou's choices, it seems most would not really care anyway.

That doesn't really conflict with what I said, not recruiting is not recruiting, regardless of the reason's why.

We have brought in some good 4 star players from outside the state, and there is no reason to think we can't do it more. More success will build more confidence, set back seasons like 2013, (remember "excuses don't matter") are gonna prevent it, that's all.

Henson did a nice job getting the offense on track, sometimes a shakeup and change for the better trumps "loyalty and longevity" if Pinkel really wants to win it all he might want to consider that fact. If Muschamp gets fired this year, Gary might want to pull a page out of his buddy Sabans book and go get a proven coordinator to come in and fix it. Not saying Kiffin is going to definitely get the job done, but the odds are very much in his favor.

Also noticed Mizzou moves up in 247 team rankings

#36 overall and #31 avg player rank

at Rivals

#39 overall and #28 avg player rank

I don't know why there isn't more weight applied for avg. player rating. Seems more important than Mississippi State's 10 rank overall but already with 21 3 star players and 2 unranked.

It's official. Mizzou has some of the worst, whiny, fans in the world, at least if the ones who post here are representative.

I agree with this completely. Volume doesn't make it a better class. Average player rating should absolutely be used when comparing school rankings.

What are you talking about? We just landed like 3 recruits in a week's time. This class is shaping up pretty good so far. Only question is how the fill it out at this point. Might only have 6-8 spots left to fill at this point.

A post review tells me that over half of your posts are nothing but complaining and whining. But about Mizzou fans and particularly Mizzou fans here. I am quickly coming to the conclusion that you are one of two things. An alter here to down talk Mizzou fans or a hack from PM or 247 that tries to run people away from here and to one of the pay sites.

Come on. Get out of here with that crap. The whole situation was handled as well as it could possibly have been by the coaches and the AD. There is nothing to criticize here. And any player with an ounce if intelligence knows it.

You might wish to rethink your quick conclusions then. I don't really consider people who continually slam mizzou and the program and coaches and recruiting to be fans. I'd rather see more ACTUAL fans here - with REAL information, like your typical posts. But I take your point.
