It would be a nice get if for no other reason than to screw that Beaker coach from pressuring kids. Gets a kid to decommit from Ohio State to go to fricken Kansas?? Good for the young man reclaiming his destiny. Hopefully he opens the eyes of everyone else there.

I hear ya but I don't think they convinced him to back off of tOSU. I think tOSU backed off of him due to qualifying concerns.

So Prime prep has officially lost it's charter. Wonder what the plan is for Martin?

I have no clue how all of that works. I feel for kids that were otherwise making their grades if they all of a sudden can't play now.

Maybe Morrison or Matter (because I know they read here ) could do an article on what effect that has on Martin's ability to play right away. For example, if he otherwise had the grades, will he be allowed to enroll in another school to graduate and move on?

Anyone wanna lay odds on Beckner? I'm thinking:

Mizzou 55%
tOSU 20%
FSU 20%
Auburn 5%

Can he qualify with a GED and decent ACT scores? It sucks for him that Deion Sanders is an idiot. It's not Brandon Martin's fault.

I'd put Auburn higher and Buckeyes lower.

Recruiter Analysts seem to believe that Auburn impressed Beckner.

Even though tOSU had some 45,000 fans to help recruit, Terry was part of a dozen OVs that weekend, and the Buckeye sports boards have been nearly silent since then on Beckner

I'm thinking he's going to have to transfer. Hopefully he can make it. I know Tavon Ross had to take some summer school classes. Maybe he can get by with something like that.

Plans for the TBJ visit on PM:

quote:

Group of students is currently working to create banners for highway exit and bridge by MATC.

Shilohs is having 79 cent beers from 12-3 on Saturday. TBJ is supposed to arrive for lunch at 1. He will head to the bball game at 3.

He is also supposed to arrive between 3-4 on Friday so students and alumni are encouraged to show up around 245 and cheer for him upon arrival. Wear gold!

Didn't the DGB year put us top 25? Maybe not, but I do remember ESPN specifically talking about us on their NSD coverage.

Damn good class.

I thought TBJ did not like all the hoopla towards him. He is a blue collar hard working type that just wants to his thing and not get a lot of fanfare.

Will this back fire on us?

I don't think so. There will be a handful that show the love and that's fine because he knows he's wanted. At the same time, having seen it in the past, there aren't going to be so many people that it becomes too big of a hoopla. I think it will come off as more of a homey, family feel because it won't be 45,000 people but you still want to know your family loves ya.

Bottom line, it's not going to come down to that stuff anyways. It's on the staff to convince why the pros of going to Mizzou outweight the pros of going to tOSU or wherever, because there are certainly pros to either.

At least it's OM and not UK.

Gawd, I just hope that the fans are cool even if the team chokes.
