Zanders is great player that doesnt want to move to WR, so Im guessing with Lock coming in he realizes theres very little chance. Berk graduates in may I believe so he may transfer to get grad school paid for. Would be smart for him.

Not surprised about him getting offers. Hopefully Pinkel gets him a title and enough money to keep him. We need to hang onto him in a big way.

I can't see him leaving for that shite show. If he wanted to leave he could get a full coordinator job at a better school. The Illinois coach is on the hot seat and was almost fired after this season. Hopefully just his agent trying to get him a well deserved raise. We absolutely have to keep him. Terrible timing on this tweet though.

I don't think this will affect tbj since Cornell ford is his recruiter who tbj said is like a father to him. It may affect others if he leaves. Hopefully this won't happen until February 6. The nice thing about this class is these are guys that don't have to be coached up. Huge blow if we lose coach kul but his hard work has gotten us to this place. We will have a few years of up and coming d line players. Hopefully the overall coaching of odom will continue the trend.
Losing coaches to new and upgraded opportunities is expected when they do good work. Hope he stays but I doubt it.

Why do you doubt it? Illinois is a dumpster fire and that whole staff could very well be shite canned after next year.

Just pay him. Make him the highest paid DL coach in the country.

Chance to turn around a program with a step up in title. Everyone said the same about stec and he went. I hope we can back the truck up to keep him but Illinois will give the same money plus the title. If his defense looks good for that dumpster fire, he might be head coach in year.

Guys, let's try to keep the Coach Kul talk in the other thread, unless it does directly relate to the recruiting.

I know some of this will impact recruiting, especially if he leaves, and if that's the case, absolutely, post about it here.

i.e. Player "X" has said the rumors of coach kul leaving is making him think twice.

Or even talking about the impact it may have on the recruiting is Kul. But talking about why he may or may not, talking about the pros and cons of staying/leaving...let's keep it over there.

Thanks guys. Not trying to be a hard arse. Just trying to keep the recruiting thread somewhat clean.

Not if you're the agent trying to get the raise. Then it's perfect timing.

You're trying to close out the best class in school history and are trying to lock up DLs to finish it off.

I'd say Kul and his agent have Pinkel by the balls. Now Beckner and other DLs are in play or more at risk.

And IF they didn't give Kul a sizable raise when they hired Odom, it was 1) pretty damn dumb and 2) they'd better damn well do so now. You can't sell #DLineU and then not take care of the man responsible.

Exactly. Pay the man. Put this behind us and finish recruiting strong with Beckner.

I was on Ohio State's rivals site and saw they have 4 recruits as signed. I looked at their profiles and they are not JC students but high school students that graduated in December.

When can December grads sign letters of intent? And if they can why has Tanner Owen not signed?

I went on their site to see what they had to say about TBJ. I am not a paying member but I could not find anything about him.

Some services mark them as signed once they are enrolled and begin classes. Once they step foot in a classroom on a campus they would have to sit out a year to sign somewhere else so they are as good as signed.

They should show Tanner Owens as signed for us since classes have started.

Alright, back on track and a recap of where we are:

QB Lock

RB Abbington(JUCO)
RB Strong
RB Doherty
RB Williams

TE

WR Floyd
WR Hall
WR Martin
WR Smith
WR Johnson

OL Cuellar(JUCO)
OL Howell(JUCO)
OL Harris
OL Owen

DE Frazier(JUCO)
DE Agbamisere

DT Jacobs

LB

DB Hilton
DB Perkins
DB Warren

ST Fatony

Beckner is the most obvious and important target.
Hall and/or Sapp at LB I'd like to see at least one of.

Then is the thought they're looking for at least one more DL?

Yup, I think we'll finish with Beckner, Hall or Sapp and one more DL. Hawkins, Daniel, Robinson.

What a class!
