We are 3-0 and beat a good Akron team that went dancing last year by 19.

Cautiously optimistic

We have the best coach since Richard Williams.

Seems like he can coach. Just needs to throw some money at a couple of transfers this offseason.

He seems to be getting a lot more out of Tolu Smith than Howland was

Yeah Howland seemed like he was a bit out of touch towards the end. I am thankful for what he did though. Without him we never sniff hiring an attractive head coach candidate.

Let's see how much support we actually get. Hopefully our new AD doesn't forget we have a basketball program.

Yeah he may not land any top 100 recruits, but hopefully he can get enough difference makers from the portal to go deep in the post season, even if just once during his tenure.

At least we do not do that stupid weave anymore, geez, I hated that “play”, if I can call it that………….

Howland was completely inept. I think this was far and away cohens best hire.

Ok I’m a believer

We may not be talented enough to make a deep run but I think this team can go dancing.

Beat an ok. Marquette team. We do seem to play better defense than under Howland. We missed a lot of under the basket shots, though all contested, but some were a bit wild attempts. See how the game against UTAH goes for further seasoning. They seem to play well together without anyone trying to be a ball hog and pass well. I like the makeover from Howland so far, but yet way early for tourney talk.

Don’t be that guy. This is time for full on homerism until we inevitably get disappointed

Telling it like it is….no matter what I say will not effect how they play. Beating Marquette, 19-13 ncaa team last yr. Is no great victory. Won’t really know much until we are a few games into sec play. I am encouraged over the last couple of years, but then was never a fan of Howland style basketball, though he did step it up from the previous. I do like the intensity of Janus on the sidelines…..though that coat and tie he wore in the SD game belongs in the Goodwill box…..

Jans looks like he has no teeth but other than that small feature, he is a massive upgrade. Team plays really hard and physical and Jans is really into the games. They need to find some back up for Tolu and find a consistent outside shooter but they really look legit.

Davis appears to be that guy, just needs more attempts, 12/17 is excellent shooting from 3 pt. Land. Reed however is shooting more with under 25% made, 1/11 in the Utah game, hopefully just a bad game.

Agree with you and as long as they keep playing with the same intensity and Tolu stays healthy it could be a really good year. Tolu is quite the leader too..his skillset is top tier but he leads with effort and physicality and the other guys follow it up.

Troy will be a tough test. Interested to see if they will be healthy.
