Did Shump get hurt today? He was limping early. The Boobie TD was funny. Our WR's made a lot of spectacular catches today too. I was more impressed with that than anything.

Fred Brown

I give the receivers a great score as a group. Fred Brown was really good, but DeRunnya started everyone off on the right page with a spectacular grab on Dak's first deep pass. It is hard to single players out because so many of them had such good games. Fred Ross looked really good. Robert Johnson had a good day. Etc.

Josh and Nick looked good running the ball. Holloway, not so much. Looked like Shump got dinged on a play. He and Mullen had a discussion after the play. Shump trotted to the sidelines afterwards and didn't play again.

Williams just has a gun. I don't remember many QB's that we have had that could throw the ball with such power. He was throwing at guys 40 yards away on a rope. He needs work on decision making, touch, and not throwing high across the middle, but his future is very bright. (Insert diamond reference.)

Fitzgerald improved a lot from 2 weeks ago. He is a work in progress, but he was a whole lot better at this stage than what I was expecting.

I watched Nick James on a few plays. When he wanted to bull rush, I was pretty impressed with how well he did. I am not really sure which players were blocking him, but Nick generally pushed them to where he wanted to go and forced the QB's out of the pocket.

If they can get nick to go all in it will be huge for us.

How did Shelby Christy look?

He had 2 TD grabs if I remember correctly.

Actually one of them Williams scrambled around and Christy made a diving catch in the corner of the endzone.

Yeah, Christy looked good (like pretty much all our WRs).

Fred Ross had a circus catch

I don't know if it would have stood up after review, but it was an amazing effort either way. He had one really nice catch and run to make a first down on a 3rd and very long.

Joe Morrow had a good day and didn't have any drops. In fact, I don't think we had any drops on easy balls. Like I said earlier, the receivers had a really good day... probably the best I have seen in forever.

I guess Fitzgerald may stick at QB after all. I was definitely off on that.

Yeah -- it seems we've "hit" on the last couple of QB recruits that we've questioned -- namely Fitz and Williams. Still not really sure how good either of those guys can be -- but I feel good about the position going forward...

Mullen has a pass from me in that regard until he starts stockpiling pro-style pussies like Schuessler again...

He is a big dude. He had one 4th and goal where he just put his head down and plowed his way into the end zone.

Fitz and Staley may not have been QB targets 1A and 1B, but damn, they are going to look good getting off of the bus.

If Mullen can somehow land Jawon Pass the QB position should be set for a while.

I don't know a whole lot about states personnel but are y'all looking at Ritchie Brown to see significant PT, maybe even start?

Wells and BM are gonna be tough

Pass will probably be one of the top prospects for 2016.

Brown should get a lot of PT this season.

We use a lot of packages and rotate a lot of defenders in and out. We will have at least 3 lines and 2 sets of LB that will get a lot of PT this year.

I haven't mentioned DBs at all, but Market was at corner for a while and looked really good on the plays where I focused on him.

It did seem iffy, but from my angle it actually looked like a completion. It was like David Tyree's catch with his helmet that time.

It'll be Wells, McKinney, and Beniquez Brown... Richie will be backup and heir apparent to McKinney, where he gets alot of reps(and did last year as well). This will be Benardrick's last year most likely...

Our goal defensively is for guys to get 40ish snaps each through a full 2 deep -- which jives pretty well with how many guys we've been playing the past couple of years. We'll play even more than that on the DL.
