He's here whether it's the right decision or not. So might as well move forward and look ahead in the short term for a second. Here's our schedule:

New Mexico (I know nothing about them other than they went 2-10)
@ NC State(New HC, went 4-8 pretty mediocre)
Arkansas(new HC, obviously mediocre)
Tulane(Willie Fritz is doing great over there)
Texas A&M(embarrassed us at Kyle Field and went 7-5)
BYE
@ Alabama(RIP)
@ LSU(RIP)
Auburn(oof)
Missouri (without Kelly Bryant, new HC, they seem bad)
@ Kentucky (this game concerns me, late November game in Lexington and they consider us a major rival)
Alabama A&M
@ Ole Miss(considering our administration makes their decisions based off of this one Game, guess he has to win this one, even if Ole Miss has 0 wins)

So here's what I think. 4 Nonconference wins, Arkansas, Missouri, and Ole Miss. That gets him to 7-5 and that will probably be enough with this administration. What say you? Now keep in mind I'm not entirely sure we do win all 7 or those games.

I’ve learned these past two seasons to subtract 2 from whatever you’re thinking.

New Mexico - W

@NC State - Toss-up - Moorhead loses to teams on the road that he should beat most of the time. There's a good chance we lose this game for several reasons
1. It's a road game and Moorhead sucks on the road
2. Dave Doeren is 10x the coach Moorhead is
3. Moorhead is still our coach and has lost almost as many games to teams he was favored to beat in 2 years as Mullen did in 9 years.

Arkansas - Win/Probable Toss-up - Everything depends on who they hire at this point. If they are hire one Kiffin, Leach, Napier, or Norvell, this can quickly turn into toss-up territory.
1. See #3 w/NC State

Tulane - Win/Probable Toss-up - Not sure what to think we this. I could see us winning a close game, winning by 10 or so, or losing this.
1. Fritz is 10x the coach Moorhead is
2. See #3 w/NC State.

Texas A&M - Blowout Loss
1. Jimbo is 10x the coach Moorhead is.
2. I see no reason to think we will improve, while I believe the Aggies will be vastly better with Jimbo

@Alabama - Blowout Loss - no comment needed

@LSU - Blowout Loss - no comment needed

Auburn - Blowout Loss - no comment needed

Missouri - Toss-up - This depends on who they hire a lot. But I will say this, I'd imagine whomever they get is infinitely better than Moorhead. Plus 4 straight blowout losses is not going to help morale.

@Kentucky - Loss - Moorhead on the road, nuff said
1. Stoops is 10x the coach Moorhead is
2. See #3 w/NC State

Alabama A&M - Win - No comment needed

@Ole Miss - Toss-up/Probable Loss - Ole Miss will hire someone and they will be infinitely better than Moorhead.

As I've said from the get go, our administration is letting one egg bowl win determine the entire future of our football program. It's going to be a rough few years here. If i'm wrong on this, I'll gladly eat my crow. But I don't see how. Moorhead has been an abject failure up until this point. He continually treats the fan base as if we are dumb and have forgotten the Mullen years. Sadly, not only does our administration allow this, they seem to be encouraging it, hence the extension.

We have only 3 for sure wins on the schedule. 5 for sure losses, with 4 toss-ups. I have no faith in Moorhead to win the majority of his toss-up games.

So at best we are 5-7 next year, but more likely 3-9 or 4-8.

Jimbo is one of the worst coaches in the country.

Thats a bit tough. We will be a better football team next year. If you put Arkansas in toss up territory at this point it is hard to even take the rest serious. Also nto to metnion Texas A&M shits the bed everytime in Starkville. While we play terrible on the road under moorhead we play pretty well at home. Tulane will be a more challenging game than a few of the SEC games.

Ok, 7-5 minimum with 9-3 max.

Auburn will be hit hard next year. They lose their entire OL if I am not mistaken.

Ark lost 38% of their roster due to transfer and that ultimately got Morris fired. So far 9 recruits have decommitted.

The 4 out of conference- Wins
Ark- Win
Mizzou- Win

Bama, loss
LSU, Loss

Tamu, Ole Miss, Auburn.... All toss ups.

You guys are selling short the amount of growth on your defense and what you are bringing in. You defense will be in the top 25 of the nation for the next 2 to 3 years. It seems several will opt to return rather than turn pro. Huge chance of returning Thompson and Gay...

Offense, Your QB is better than Nix. Look at his passing. He needs a OL that protects better. He needs more WRs and I have a feeling you will use recruiting and the portal. My understanding is there could be a shot at Shorter(Moorhead connection)

I think that Ole miss will win next yr. if for no other reason that at QB they have two better than our one.

If we lose to Tulane, well, hang my head in shame that Tulane has produced a better program than ours.

6-6 at best.

One is transferring. The other is not better than Shrader.

Shrader is a 57.5% passer in 153 attempts
Plumlee is a 52% passer in 150 attempts

That's with a difference of 3 passing attempts.

Shrader has 300 yards more too.

Ole Miss QBs are not better than Shrader.

Shrader did great as a freshman and he played in most of our tougher games. He will be much better next year imo

I’d say nice bump, but JJ is a cold take machine.
