Idk what to say

What a waste. Beating a bad Ole Miss team doesn't mark a good season at MSU anymore. They're the equivalent of Arkansas and I'm not celebrating that one either.
I wanted Iowa for our offense to prove that they had improved. They did not, it was simply a result of bad competition.
Idk what to do now. I think we're in serious risk of missing a bowl next year if you look at the schedule. We won't have the dominant defense which our offense gave us 5 wins with. And I'm not sure how much better we get with a new QB, new ol, and our WRs and RBs(which I guess are still on roster) for next season. We finished 8-5 from 9-4 in 2017. If you don't have a problem with this, we'll see the old MSU soon enough.

And some thought I was crazy when I predicted 7-5 regular season. That 9-4 was a little fool's gold if you do any digging. That said, this team should have had win no. 10 yesterday.

Yeah, I was laughing when the play-by-play guys were saying the team ended the season playing great football. They beat two bad teams to end the season after getting beat soundly by Bama. I really didn't understand why they were ranked #18. They were more like #24 or #25 at best, if you ask me.
I didn't come into that game yesterday thinking it was an automatic win like some prognosticators. After the Florida and Kentucky games, it was clear that this team can lose focus easily and get beat by teams it should have beaten. That was a game they should have won though. The D played well overall, but had some boneheaded penalties. And, Moorhead, Fitz and Guidry made their share of mistakes on offense. I did notice that Iowa had no penalties called on them. How often does that happen (besides Bama)?

I bought all into Moorhead too soon. It was fools gold yet it wasn't. They proved they could beat teams better than Iowa in Auburn and Texas A&M. Yet any team with the caliber of defense that Iowa had shutdown the state offense. The 3 straight QB runs, the penalties (yes I know it was BS Iowa didn't get penalized), and the fact that our defense held them under 200 yards.
That's why my title is idk what to say. Because I don't. I'm not sure I can tell you which offensive position group even improved in 2018. That's the biggest concern imo.

They weren't the only ones. Our media and a lot of our fans were pumping that up. Beating Ole Miss is a lot more important than having a great football team for a lot of State fans. Which is why we are where we are.

I thought Iowa's offense was too bad to be able to score enough points to win. I was semi right in the sense we held them under 200 yards. But once again our offensive turnovers put our defense in bad situations.

It was BS that Iowa didn't have any penalties called on them. But our penalties are BS too.

I think this is the most important piece. We lost to an inferior opponent. They had the better coached team. That is disturbing. Out of all of our losses, this was the worst one.

I do think Ferentz is a very solid coach from a fundamentals standpoint. He reminds me of younger Bill Snyder but at a better overall program historically. Iowa has been a good program for as long as I can remember, going back to the Hayden Fry years.

To be fair our offense moved the ball all game.
We stepped on our own dick twice while about to score. Couldn’t get 2 yards in 3 plays once and receiver dropped a TD pass that got picked.
